I know I will get the classic "leave the coaching to Saban" response, so bear in mind I'm just bouncing ideas around. Clearly, Vinnie Sunseri struggled in zone coverage, man coverage and making tackles today. Collins has the athleticism to be a true corner, yet is physical enough to play either safety position. Does anyone see him playing a hybrid role as the nickel DB going foreward into next season? I think he could have been vital in coverage, and even moreso containing dual threat QBs like Manziel, possibly playing a spy/rover SS/LB hybrid. A player with his talent and versatility could be very useful against offenses like A&M. Thoughts?
If we r being honest. Lester, Dix, Belue and in the first half Fulton all played terrible. Vinnie was not alone today.

While I agree, our d-line just got whipped today. Sure we had a few coverage breakdowns, but he had all day to throw the ball most of the time.
That was by design. You don't try to run around the offensive line because as soon as you run past manzel he is gone. You try to collapse the pocket on him.

I guess Shane thinks Yeldon will flip to Bama after he enrolls at Auburn. Brilliant. Sell those subscriptions, BOL.” - TIGER
It was by design to try to collapse the pocket, but not to give him all day. They have one of the best o-lines in the country, making collapsing the pocket very difficult. But it was the best plan against Manziel. Their o-line is just really good.
The best DBs in the country can't cover that long due to a lack of pressure on the QB. Liner, Adams...you have a call on line one...
LC is talented, but Vinnie has incredible football IQ. I think it's obvious now that he's the weak link on defensive pass coverage. Just doesn't have the height or speed to get into the right positions.
And I did notice that Landon was the kick returner when Dee Milliner went out yesterday.
