...is the fact that Cooper and Jacobs combined for 42 points.
Look for this team to come out Tuesday and play very hard and very well. They'll give the Gators all they can handle.
That depends on if we have our starters back. We played an average team well in LSU, but they did have leads of 15 and 14 points in each half. UF is 3 times the team LSU is and they will come in pissed after losing two straight. We need scoring against UF, and having 4 freshman against an experienced backcourt like UF could be very hard to overcome. UF recently lost to Tennessee because UT has lots of size and skilled bigmen who killed them on the inside.
Glad you pointed that out,I had not realized it, but i'm not sure that it will have much relevance against Florida who is a much better team, I would really like to see these young guys come in and prove we can do wih out the thug behavior on our team
Cooper has to stay aggresive. He can actually create offense off the dribble and has a really nice shot (much better form than Hank or Randolph). Jacobs just has to hold onto the ball. His game reminds me of Richard Hendrix he just isn't as physically mature as a freshman as Hendrix was. I'm struggling with is Lacey a PG or SG, but I think he plays really hard (I'm not sure why anyone has questioned his attitude or effort). My biggest worry is that we will get abused inside on both sides of the court against better teams. We need one of the bigs to play tougher.
I wish we could find a skilled big to transfer in like MSU and LSU did.
It's not merely that they combined for 42 points. Yeah, I know UF is a heckuva lot better than LSU. But the LSU game was (a) on the road, and (b) played with a makeshift lineup that basically was thrown together at the last minute. Tomorrow will be at home, and the team and staff will have had a couple of days to prepare for the Gators with the lineup they will have to play with, as opposed to Saturday.
