"I don't think Florida is better than Alabama but based on schedule Florida should be number 1." so let me get this straight the best team shouldn't be number one just team with tougher schedule?
Not worth talking about...if both teams continue doing what they are doing they will play for number 1 so does not.even matter
Yes, rankings should always be based off who deserves it the most, not who you "think" is better. Florida should definitely be #1 based off body of work.
I see the point he's making. He feels the teams they have beat are stronger than the ones we have, so they have earned the ranking more than we have. not saying I agree but it's a valid viewpoint. if this was the final poll he would say the best team should be #1, but it's October.
He also knows doesn't matter because we will play each other if we stay on our current tracks.
He also followed that statement up with Bama would beat Florida.
He was just saying Florida looks good and have beaten good teams
Well, you have to consider the computer rankings when predicting who will be number 1 in the BCS standings. UF's resume thus far shows to have been tougher to date. However, like the previous poster wrote, it will all work out in the end. So nothing to get concerned about right now.
If UF stays unbeaten and jumps us that would be perfect motivation to crush them in Atlanta.
BAMA is clearly the best team in football and to vote anyone except BAMA #1 would be foolish. Doesn't matter though, BAMA is going to settle the debate when we beat the brakes off Florida in Atlanta.
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Cor 10:4
I have no problems with him saying that. Taking the Crimson glasses off and basing it soley on schedules, they probably should be #1. But most of these voters have probably watched us play and think we're the more complete team, which makes sense when the Florida offense has 29 yards on offense after the 1st half.
Did he brag about Auburn recruiting? If not, I'm not sure your quote is accurate.
He didn't actually say they should be number one, he just said if you're looking at schedule alone, they have the best resume. He also made it clear that he thinks Bama is the best team in the country.
Cry me a river.
That's not at all what he said, by the way.
I love how people can view us being disrespected, when the BCS rankings just came out & the difference between us & everybody else was roughly the difference in us having 1 less loss than everybody else, even though both UF & Oregon are undefeated as well.
If he new as much about football as he thinks, he would be involved with a team or coaching instead of being a talking head.
IF IT FEELS GOOD,YOU AIN'T DOING IT RIGHT!
Should still take into account how bad we have beaten teams despite having an easier schedule. 33 point victory margin. Enough said.
This is why there is a human element to the polls. Everyone and their brother knows bama is better than Florida, and its not really close either, and that is reflected in the human polls.
Show me where I cried please. I don't feel bama is disrespected at all and I actually like luginbill.

As many have already said, it doesn't matter anyway, the only thing that matters is if we're 1 or 2 in the last poll.
This sounded like crying or ignorance to me:
"... so let me get this straight the best team shouldn't be number one just team with tougher schedule?"
Are you serious with this question? You're asking if a SUBJECTIVE OPINION is more valid than an absolute fact? It doesn't matter who you or anyone "thinks" is best. What matters is who DESERVES it more based on their body of work. Thinking anything otherwise is dishonest. If two teams go undefeated, then the one with the better body of work (i.e. tougher schedule) deserves more. It doesn't matter how the teams look on paper or look on TV - it matters who won and who they played.
But this can't be. People on this board said that Bama isn't being disrespected.
