"Nick Saban, ever the stoic football mind, was wide-eyed.
It was 2007, Saban's first spring as head coach at Alabama, and as he walked out of the tunnel into Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, he was struck by the ocean of Crimson Tide fans sitting shoulder to shoulder.
The official attendance total of 92,138, mind-blowing though it was, didn't even capture the scene. That was just the stadium capacity, filled to the rim."
I say we beat that Ohio State record this year... Let's go 101 strong!
I still laugh a little at the absolutely dumbfounded disbelief of all the people who were on the ESPN broadcasts and interviews the day of our '07 spring game. Wish I could re-live that evening. There were some serious haters over CNS, serious hate about Alabama, and they tried to turn it around and make fun of us for our unbridled fanaticism.
54 wins, 2 west titles, 1 sec title, and 2 national titles later, they have all humbly hit their knees and accepted the CNS + Alabama union for what it is.
One thing they always fail to report is that they turned away another 10-20 k people and announced it in the stadium that day. I was there!
I could not find the video I was looking for, but there is one where the announcer says, "stadium full, now opening west upper deck"........."stadium full, now opening east upper deck" and so on and so on. I was there and every time they opened a new section people were pooring in like ants until it was full. People would walk to the top and look over the edge and there were thousands of people covering the streets. Chills*****
This was the announcement that Alabama had the largest attendance at a Spring game ever. Over 92,000+ and they had to close the gates otherwise it would have been lots more

Good read thanks for posting
Hate I missed saban's 1st aday, but birth of daughter took place the following day! This year will be her 1st aday! ROLL TIDE!
That's terrific! What a great event, and great story of her birth to be able to share with your daughter.
+1 for being a good Bama Daddy.
If you love Southern girls, raise your glass. If you don't, raise your standards.
She is going to be amazed at the number of people and how large the stadium will be. Already have her cheerleader outfit!
Too cute. Take lots of pictures.
My Dad and I were there that day. What a great experience. Love going to A-Day. Love the atmosphere. If I am in country this fall I will be at some games, no doubt. Can't wait.
My son is 2 months old and too young for this A-Day but will bring him soon. He was born on National Signing Day this year. :)
