Someone said you are what you eat
I saw a feature about her on an episode of Nick Saban Show. She went into great detail describing how she manages nutrition during football season. It was unbelievable. Most of us know about complex carbs before the game and yada yada, but she goes much further. She talked about managing hydration by increasing salt intake for a determined period before the game and how that has lessened the number of muscle cramps during hot weather competition. She showed us the player's snack room, and it looked like a Whole Foods store...organic fruit drinks, energy bars, dried fruit, nuts, it was unbelievable.

Great thing is that she works for all athletic teams at Bama.
10 PM feeding for football? Incredible. Is that most nights during the week? What time is lights out? What do they do between the 10:00 PM meal and bedtime to help digestion?
I just think its funny that they call it a "feeding". I imagine a bunch of huge mammals corralling around a trough to eat.
Excellent Post.....My daughter graduated from Montevallo and UAB (internshipship/masters) in nutrition and dietetics...it's so amazing how our food/drinks act just like medicine in our bodies...she's a dietitian at a large hospital, but, she also teaches classes for post cardiac surgery, diabetes classes etc. Now, if we would only do what the nutritionist/dietitians told us to do *smile*
