Big Al is a joke. He wont last until the end of the year,
As mentioned in another thread, the decision not to run Denard much was clearly a business decision. Borges just said it himself in the article.
OMG a business decision. What a crock of you know what. Hey I hope auburn hires him back.
I still tell you that history shows dual threat QBs don't run on Bama. The losses we have had to them have come through the air. Even Cam Newton couldn't run on Bama.
"Touch that thang four" - Courtney Upshaw
"Borges' plan was based on a multitude of factors. Having coached at Auburn, he was familiar with Alabama and its defense."
Does our defense resemble the one he coached against at au? Can't believe people really type that kind of stuff.
They could have ran him 25 times and lost 41-17 or 41-21....But he would have never made it thru the game as he barely did anyway...Why destroy you whole season for a game you never had a shot at anyway...
I am not sure that there was anything else Michigan could have done. They were completely out-manned. Sometimes you just have to take your ass whoopin' and move on. They had to keep their QB healthy for the rest of the year.
Massive Al really has a grasp for the obvious. "If they load the box, we throw. If they are light in the box we run."
That is the most basic game plan in football and is taught in Pee-Wee league. Glad Al didn't figure out that it is all about disguises and talent.
He didn't give us any credit that I saw. He said UM just didn't execute. He is correct on that one but it's because we did execute and his boys had no answer.
I don't think the plan was that bad, they are all great until you get hit in the mouth a few times then... as someone said, they were totally out matched!
They had a few good plays called but for the most part Denard could not make the throws.
Seems that the only time we get beat is when the opposing teams QB has a "game of a lifetime" throwing the ball! Scam, USC east Qb(can't remember his name) Jefferson and Lee when we lost to LSU in 2010, LSU 2011 we beat ourselves!
Colt McCoy thinks Al had a great gameplan.
If he was trying to save his QB then why did he start running him in the 2nd half? No, he knew he couldn't run against us so he decided to try and beat us in the air. It just didn't work, or not very well anyway. He did hit 2 long passes on us. But overall his passing was not very good. So in 2nd half they to adjust with him running some. Thats what happened. Not that BS.
They have showed the way to beat Bama. It's to throw the ball less than 25 times. Garcia didn't play out of his mind because he threw great. He played out of his mind because he didn't do anything stupid for the first and only time in his career. Same with Jefferson in 11. For a game he didn't get in the way of the good players and they ended up squeaking out a win. Cam was a fluke. Had Barron not. Been hurt or Julio would have been able to play the second half. Game over. Even then. Cam picked his spots and didn't go For broke.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
"Character" is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.
Exactly, WTF. Basically hes saying the plan was perfect but the players F'd it up. But its his job to teach them to execute properly.
Hey Al, you know who else had a plan? Saban and Smart. And their players actually executed it. They caught onto your genius plan of throwing when the box is loaded. They wanted Denard in the pocket, and damn if he wasn't there all night long.
UM's plan was probably to limit our run game and make AJ sling it all over. But damn if we didn't ram it down their gullet anyway. Funny how that can happen.
When you're completely outclassed in size, speed, strength, and discipline, X's and O's don't matter much.

obviously getting ready for bama didnt affect his appetite. may the game plan was to get done as early as possible and go to supper.
