Here's my dream scenario:
Alabama beats Tennessee on Friday. LSU or UGA pull a massive upset over an uninspired Florida team on Friday.
Alabama beats UGA or LSU on Saturday.
Roll the dice on Sunday and pray for a miracle finish against someone like Ole Miss or Mizzou.
(Call me a defeatist if you want to. I'd take the easiest route to Sunday I can get, and UGA/LSU are talented enough to hang with Florida if they just show up and expect to win. Florida's not been great away from home recently.) Longshot? Absolutely. But not so far out of the realm of possibility it's not worth watching.
UT is a tough game for us. Barely survived them at home. & had the same type of game with them on the road. Who knows how that one may turn out.

I want no part of LSU. They're just a bad matchup for us and seem to play well below their talent level, imo. I think we match up ok with UF, call me crazy.
You are crazy (g)
Although the gators have been known to lay an egg in the SECT.
Usually tournaments are when the top players can carry a team with a top performance. Georgia has the best player in the league and can beat anybody. I wouldn't be shocked if they beat Florida. We've got to beat UT first which will be extremely tough.
I'm not just assuming we can't beat Florida, but when they're "on" they're clearly the best team in the league.
They are - by far - the most talented/experienced roster we could face. Rosario/Boynton/Wilbekin/Murphy/Young/Yugete is much more talented than anything LSU would throw at us.
Young and a healthy Yugete might rip us up inside. If we play LSU and contain J'OB, we win. Their guards are streaky but we have a decided size advantage over them.
Plus....you'd expect Florida to get every single call on a neutral floor as they're the league's only hope at a high seed. The league wouldn't go against them until it's obvious a Florida loss means an extra bid - which wouldn't happen until Sunday.
Win...that's my dream scenario, and it probably is a dream
Dream big- beat all the highest seeds you can, including UF.
I think the problem I have with us winning the SEC is it will change the perception of this year's team / results. We have consistently been a mediocre basketball team. We dont deserve to be in the big dance, after 30+ games.
Now, the fan in me wants them to win. But I also want us to address the needs in the off season and get some good assistants and maybe some players.
I say we beat UcheaT then defeat the Gayturds.
From that point forward we have as good a chance as anyone to win the SECT and it gives us a quality win.
I'm not certain we could beat Tennessee, Florida and UK/OM/Mizzou 3 straight days. We barely beat any of those teams during the regular season once.
I'm not too proud to beg. If we win on Sunday it doesn't matter if we got a quality win during the process. Give me the easiest road to a sure thing.
I would never have a problem with us winning the tournament. I would hate for us to make a March run and win some games and change the perception of Alabama basketball. Call me a homer, crimson-colored glasses, whatever, but posts like this where you openly debate rather its better to win or hope we lose is riduculous. How will us losing in SECT help us get better players??
I agree 100%
