I went to Orlando for work a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd share what I experienced. I wasn't fully decked out in Bama gear, but I did wear my Bama hat for those 2 days. There were a lot of people there from the Midwest and I can't tell you how many times I heard "Man, when are you guys gonna slow down?" or "Yall gotta lose a few more games." I got several "Roll Tide"s as well, but the overwhelming opinion was that we are 90's Nebraska or Florida State or mid 2000's USC where people are just sick of us winning. It was fantastic. Usually my response was something along the lines of "Hey, we had it coming, we suffered through Mike Shula." I tended to go with that if the conversation was good natured. If someone was really being a jerk about it though, I would just tell them it doesn't matter what happens, but Alabama doesn't stay down for long. One guy tried to challenge me on that until I pointed out that just about every class since before Bryant had at least 1 10-win season. He changed his tune after that. Anyhow, sorry this got so long but I just thought a few people may be interested to hear what folks from other parts of the country are saying about us.
"Quit trying to make a play and do your job!"
The big difference in Bama and FSU/Big Red is we won't fade and the fact that we appear to have the ability to win the big games with consistency. Nothing negative to Neb because those teams were awesome, but they seemed to struggle at times and not get into title games....FSU had the U stigma.

Yeah, I live in Orlando area, and trust me, there are "A LOT" of Bama fans here. I get Roll Tides all the time. I never get any smack talk more, which leads me to believe the amount of respect everyone has for Bama.
You obviously haven't been Orlando long. I caught hell for years when we were bad. And when we hired Saban, the Bama hate was intense.
They are used to us winning it all down here now. I think they have finally accepted it and just wish another team would win. When I stand right in front of them with my Bama Nat'l Champ shirt they just look the other way! It is a melting pot down here - not just Gators, Noles and Canes. A lot of Big 10 fans down here, especially Ohio St. But at least the Gaytors are SEC-loyal to some extent. I've been in Orlando 15 years - and saw our alumnni and fan group grow from about 8 to 500+ (on our email list). We grew even in the tough years! Now it is great getting together with over 100 other Bama fans to watch the games together!! If you are ever in Orlando on game day go to Miller's Ale House on Kirkman Rd!!!
I certainly haven't felt the Bama love in the Orlando area, been here since '81.
I was in Orlando/Disney World for a week and was disappointed I only saw a few people that I exchanged Roll Tides with, but I saw a decent amount of people wearing A&M gear. Found that odd.
I grew up in Metro West. I'm sure someone I know probably works that the kirkman ale house. Things have changed big time since I moved. That hate from dolphin fans was particular intense. Glad its gotten better.
Edit: Living in Orlando is why I hate Ohio State so much. I hate them more than any other ooc team.

Si. I can't stand Ohio State either and, like others have said, destroying them next year in the nat'l championship game would be a dream come true!
Yes, I've lived here for 20 yrs now. And I looked at what I posted and meant to say that I don't get MUCH smack talk ANYMORE. Yes, 6 yrs ago all my friends would dog me because Bama wasn't that good, but now, all they say is " is it ever goons end?" Lol. Love it
