That's the nature of the age group and college students. Marijuana use is, actually, higher among non-athletes in the college group. The other students (18, I believe) who were nabbed in the sting were probably selling to regular students for the most part. It's a huge problem on college campuses. Unfortunately for the football players they were the ones tested for use (on instructions from the head coach). A large-scale, surprise testing of the general student body would not be pretty.

Just because something is illegal, doesn't mean it should be illegal. if nobody stands up to unjust laws, then those laws will never be changed.
Because of Americas international political influence, people in other countries have been put to death or been given life in prison. Is that just? Yet some of those same countries have legalized prostitution. Which of those two laws leads to a greater moral decay.
And i rarely even smoke, but i know some good honest, hard working people that prefer it to relax rather than alcohol because of the lack of hangover and minimal side effects. Not everyone who smokes is like Cheech and Chong.
Btw, do you guys know who the greatest advocate of keeping marijuana illegal is? The growers. They love being in a multi billion dollar, untaxed industry.
in my most southern voice, "dad gum"!!!
Taking an early lead on the Fulmer Cup. I don't know if anyone can catch them if these numbers are correct.
you make a good point and i agree with you.. The only reason it isnt legalized is the govt has no way to tax it bc anyone can grow it!!
Is corn taxed?
Anyone can brew beer too. Never underestimate the power of sloth.
Oh, and Krewe of Muses rocks.
A ton of people in mm states bring it to other states because they can get an extra grand pet pound, and if you have 100+lbs, it's worth bringing it to the south. a lot of cali buds ends up in fla for a reason.
Seriously though, i know we have some cops on this board. It would be nice to hear their opinions. do cops in montgomery or birmingham see marijuana as a major social problem or a bunch of pain in the butt paperwork, and why do y'all feel the way you do?

Funny you mention that, brewing beer in Alabama is illegal
"Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places you have to look at it right."
I have a problem with any type of mind altering drug not being regulated or attempting to be regulated. The abuse of alcohol, drugs, etc is where the problem begins. In five years I have made a few dui arrest by marijuana use alone and several with a mixture of marijuana and other drugs.
From my experience the arrest I have made (drug related) most started with cigs, moved to marijuana, then to pills, etc. Legalizing marijuana won't make my job any easier. It will just be another theft report I have to take or a loss of property report. It is a gateway drug, just like alcohol and some pills are as well. The number one excuse? Well it's not illegal or it's MY prescription. Our extensive freedoms in this country are unfortunately abused by those who lack responsibility and I know marijuana would be no different. Can people be responsible and use at home? Sure, but the reality is it's just another opportunity for a irresponsible person to take an innocent life.
Legalizing something gives a false impression of "safe". I think it needs to be used for medicinal purposes and only administered in a doctors office. Using marijuana, alcohol, drugs etc to "relax" is only a band aid for stress that is a underlying issue to something greater most of the time.
