We have so much technology these days, what do we think about a player signing on an ipad or something similar and its electronically sent to admin at the school instead of actually feeding a fax machine. Thoughts??
I'm with ya. I cant believe they still use fax machines for this type stuff. But hey.....if we have a fax cam girl then i dont see a reason to change.
believe it or not faxing is more secure. if you email the information that is contained in a letter of intent that could be decrypted and the information such as social, address, birthdate could be used in identity theft. This information must be handled with PCI compliance of level one.
I would 1) Use an app like SignNow (the app says it was recently used to sign an NBA contract 2) Take a picture of the document and text it in using a cam-scanner app 3) scan and e-mail the documents to get a reply 4) Fax them in.
I think it's a great idea, but like everything else you sort of have to let those involved sort of catch up to the technology.
I wouldn't be surprised if something like that isn't in place in the near future
Christopher Walsh covers Alabama football for BamaOnline, 247Sports, and is the author of 18 books.
Just have the electronic signature cam girl....
I guess i could deal with that.
Mods--I think I have a serial down vote stalker. Not sure how you can down vote a fax question but that person found away
Or one could simply visit one of the hundreds of thousands of websites that deal with images of attractive young women and pretend its related to NSD?
I agree, I just accepted a new job and they wanted me to fax all my paperwork in to them instead of scanning it.............I was like, this isnt the 90s
My wife had to do the same. What a pain. Much prefer to scan and email
No joke. Docusign is the truth. We use it and it saves me tons of heartburn and anticipation stress.

The NCAA manages the National Letter of Intent program. I'm surprised they don't have the players use pagers or carrier pigeons.
Actually, the NLI program itself is sort of a dinosaur. NLI is completely voluntary from the perspective of the player. If you're a player it does protect you for a year in the event you get hurt between February and August, and it also protects lower-rated or recruited players from getting locked out at the last minute.
But if you're a 5* stud, I'm surprised more of those types don't just say "I'm going to wait this out until August. I'll just show up wherever I make up my mind then." A few still do this and take it beyond NSD, but I'm shocked more do not.
