saying Roll Tide to a stranger in a random part of the country and getting a blank state like you're crazy. Anybody else know what I'm talking about??
Does this stranger have on Bama gear or are you just saying roll tide to some random person on the street? I can think of a million things more annoying, but to each his own.
If it is someone wearing Bama gear, I completely agree. I hate that.
more strange/bizarre than annoying but I get what you're saying. Last time I got a blank stare was actually in South Beach a few months ago.
On Alabama: CeCe Jefferson - "It was a bunch of beautiful women..." Reggie Ragland - "oh the females of course..."
Yes they have Bama gear on. Obviously it's not the most annoying thing in the world. I was exaggerating. I just don't get it.
I do. I think that it's rude and had to call my wife out a few months ago. She has been better since then. I will say that there have been times when my mind has been elsewhere and I have been so tardy in my return Roll Tide that I might as well have not said anything. That's very seldom though.
We was in Gatlinburg for New Years. Of course me, my son and my daughter are decked out in Bama gear. Got so many Roll Tides from cars stuck in traffic and people walking but also had people look at me crazy when I'd give them a Roll Tide. Yeah it's irritating.
Last year I was in downtown Greenville, SC with my girlfriend and as we walked out of a restaurant a guy gave me a hearty Roll Tide. I completely flubbed it. Still one of more shameful experiences of my life.

Maybe they don't speak english and bought the stuff at a garage sale. It happens.
Gotta give a shout out to the Bama fan at Times Square the first week of December. Hollered RollTide to him down on the sidewalk from the upper deck of a tour bus and he immediately started looking around for the source. Spotted me on the upper deck a returned the customary greeting. But yeah I have been left hanging before too and always feel shunned when it happens.
Agree...every fan in the world has seen the ESPN commercial....
Good point about the all important "hunt down" when you get one in a crowded area and you don't know where it came from. Very important to scan the perimeter for the bro who gave it and return the RT.
Those are usually bandwagons
What's even more annoying is when you're wearing Bama gear and a complete random stranger comes up and says "war eagle. "
Seriously I am reminded of an old cowboy movie where the main character said, "Them's fighting words."
I moved to Memphis about a year and a half ago. Would be excited to say Roll Tide to someone in our gear just to get confused stares. Drives me nuts. I've quit trying for the most part.
Make His Ass Quit.
