...on Friday. Last year, Alabama returned to the practice field on Dec. 19 for Jan. 9 game.
Wow! they are going to have some very spread out practices.
Isn't there an NCAA rule allowing 15 practices only for a bowl game?
This is where experience matters. Saban has said more than once he learned his lesson about working his team too much before bowl games. They get worn out and peak too soon.
Hopefully that will happen to ND. Those guys have a legit defense and it will be a tough game. RTR!
Yeah - here's their schedule ... a little different approach.
Fri., Dec. 7: First bowl practice
Dec. 10-14: Finals week
Fri., Dec. 21: Players dismissed after morning practice for Christmas
Thurs., Dec. 27: Players return to campus
Wed., Jan. 2: Travel to Miami
Dates of practice
Dec. 7, 8, 11, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30, 31
Jan. 3, 4, 5
Remember, Notre Dame didn't play last week.
Ok, because I know someone will ask, no Alabama has not released its bowl schedule yet. The team will travel to Miami on Jan. 2 as well.
My guess is that Alabama will start up practice around the 20th. Some rest would do a lot of these guys some good.

Most important part of that for us....
Considering they didn't play last week it is really just a few days difference in the amount of days off. Maybe Kelly feels like they need a few days earlier just keep some fundamentals in tact.
