Roll Tide. It doesn't matter how u get there. It's the scoreboard that matters. The guy ran it when it counted. What a game.
I ask out board to stop piling on Nuss, and to take a look at the D. If we lose, it's not about the O

Our fans have too much of a play station mentality. We actually had idiots calling for Nuss to be fired. Crazy
Eat clean. Train Hard.
And he got those yards by doing what? Running the ball! Glad the light finally came on in the second half.
I've never said we should fire him, but what makes you think that Saban didn't tell him to run it? It was very uncharacteristic play calling.
Whatever it was, I'm glad it happened. The first half was frustrating as hell.
That's the way it goes... we lose, we get the "fire Nuss" posts. We win, we get the "coach Nuss called a great game" posts. People overreact.
I don't know football well enough to really make a sound judgement one way or the other, and neither do the majority of the board. But, Hell... I'll give you my amateur opinion: it seems like we've called plays on offense most of the season based on what we WANT to be on offense, not who we ARE on offense. We obviously want to be able to spread the field and throw from the shotgun, but the truth is we have an O-Line that is better at run blocking, a QB whose most succesful throws are set up by play-action, and runningbacks who- as a group- are more effective than our WRs. During the second half of the LSU game we had, I believe, 3 consecutive drives where we went 3-and-out and ran 8/9 plays from the shotgun. During the first quarter against A&M, between their drives that made it 20-0, we did something similar. Again, I don't know football, maybe you've got to do that so that they aren't always stacking 8 in the box... but it just seems like we're running a good bit of plays that aren't our strength in the name of "balance."
Exactly. Didn't you guys notice the play calls changed dramatically during the game? I'll give him credit for adjusting though.
I have said this from the middle of the season. Saban recruits the biggest and best run blocking OL's in high school football every year. We recruit big RBs that are best when ran b/t the tackles. Yet, we have continued to throw the football. We ran the ball down their throats and could of ran the ball like that all year. Had we started in the first qtr the game would not have been that close in the 4th.
Great game. Great win. Roll Tide baby.
One other thing and probably most important is that it keeps the ball away from the other team. We dominated the clock i the second half. Good thing too b/c we could barely stop them.

Offensive balance is what Saban wants. He called runs early and we couldn't get goin. He spread em out early then started punching them in the mouth. Genius
Vince Lombardi was asked how it felt to have the best football team in the world. He replied, I don't know. We haven't played Alabama yet.
This is an understatement!!! It was sad to see how many bafoons came out of the woodwork tonight. I guess every fan base has them.
