I posted in High School thread but:
WSFA in Montgomery just reported Autauga Academy is holding O.J. Howard tonight since it is a non-region game. They play #1 Edgewood next week in region.
Could someone explain what that means?
They play Fort Dale tonight which are not in Autauga's region. They play Edgewood next week that is in their region. I would guess his coach is trying to ensure he is healthy and ready for next week. But that is just a guess.
Yes, Edgewood is really good. Their coach, Bobby Carr, is a fantastic coach and they have great teams year in and yr out. Bobby will certianly have a great game plan for Howard. Coach honeycutt is just making sure he has his "tank" fully ready and with no problem's.
I played at Morgan in the early 00's and stopping a talent like OJ would be very difficult. He's a beast. One player CAN make a difference in AISA ball.
This Edgewood team is very very good this year. Can't wait to see if one great talent can beat them. Don't think anyone can stop Bobby's offense.
I played at Macon East in the early to mid 2000s. Can't imagine playing against a talent like OJ in the AISA. I made the all star team in 2005 and we had nobody on either team even close to OJ. He is a freak.
Maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists, unless laughter can be said to remedy anything. -- Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
Going to watch that game next week. Should be interesting. I expect Edgewood to win though.
I played at macon-east as well. Graduated in 99 tho. I think my brother graduated in 05 0r 04. Small world, huh...
I am going to the game as well. Should be a good game. Edgewood's qb has already signed a baseball scolly i believe. should be a high scoring game
I watched Edgewood destroy Lakeside last week. They literally could have put 100 on them. It wouldn't surprise me if Edgewood was playing public school ball in a few years. They're running out of competition in AISA.
What was your brothers name? I am sure I knew him bc at Macon, if you knew one person... you knew everybody.
This is true. I went there too.
Justin Thomas' brother played when I was there. He pretty much dominated.

Blake was the best athlete to ever play at MEMA. He could do it all.
Check your PM.
Played AISA ball in the late 90s. We had a certain running back that now is on the staff of a certain D1 team in Tuscaloosa. One player can indeed make all the difference. Although, I'd like to think that myself and a few other posters on this board had a small contribution. Lol
Made it in '85...guess that means I'm old.

Not taking anything away from Edgewood, but everyone destroys Lakeside. We always did at Glenwood around 00-01.
Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear.
Graduated from glenwood in 08, wish this team could play a little better defensively got 60 something hung on them tonight by Edgewood...
You're right about Lakeside. I don't think they have ever been competitive in football. My point concerning Edgewood is that it seems every week they just completely dominate their oppenent. I think they've won 3-4 championships in a row. I realize their enrollment is 250-270 K thru 12, so a jump into AHSAA ball is not likely any time soon, but at some point you would think they may want a little competition? I could be wrong. Heck they may enjoy winning AA AISA state every year. I wouldn't know. I graduated from Abbeville Christian, where we were everyone's homecoming game. (g)
