A Louisville fan just called in to Sirius 91 to talk about CFB. He said on his way to the Sugar bowl, he took a trip to Tuscaloosa to see what (if anything) was so special. He said it was a rainy day and when he looked over and saw BDS the clouds parted and the sun shined on it and he said "ok, now I get it."
He continued by saying if we stopped spending money for 50 years, they couldn't catch up with our facilities. I thought that was pretty cool.
thought you were going to say after their florida stomping they think they coudl have beat us
That is pretty cool.. Thanks for sharing it.. I have a similar story.. We have family friends who are big f$u people.. They don't hate Alabama, really.. More of a jealousy issue.. However, they were making a trip up to Gatlinburg and decided to stop by Tuscaloosa to "see what the fuss was all about." .. They called and were just in awe of BDS and also the Mal Moore Center.. They even went in to the Bryant Museum.. He laughed and said "There's no way ole Nick will leave Alabama. This place recruits it's self. All he has to do is pick the 5 stars he wants, give a little pitch to family, and have them take a tour of the place." We are lucky to have an awesome facility.. Happy #15
And to add to that, I think the feeling towards us is changing across the country.. I think it's beginning to be more of a respect deal vs just hating us..

Maybe not hate us the jealousy is strong.
Oh yes.. The jealousy is very strong.. But I haven't ran across too many who truly hate us, outside of Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, and little sister.. I'm sure there are plenty of people who hate us, but fanbases as a whole seem to be tipping their hat and thinking how can we stop those SOB's.. Maybe I've just met some decent people, though..
Tuscaloosa is a special place no doubt. Thanks for sharing.

I live in North MS... and have several new neighbors/friends that have been transplants in with the new Toyota plant here... One inparticular is a Michigan fan.... well his sons (9 and 6) have been at my house during a game to watch with me and my son... well they now wear AL gear and say Roll Tide all the time... I took their Dad to the AL/OM game and the AL/MSU game at BDS... Needless to say, he is now a Tide fan...
Gonna bring him and his boys along with me and my son to A-Day... Let's pack it!

I'll tell you this. An Alabama support staff member from seasons past took a job at another big football school, when he returned a few weeks later to make the final move he said this to me: They told me before I got down here that Alabama was different and I had heard that about pretty much everywhere else I had been up to that point, but it really is true. Alabama is unlike anywhere else I have ever seen."
Was fortunate to take recruiting trips and the Campus back then was not as nice as it is today. I knew the day I got there that I was going to Bama, I went on a few other trips just for fun but always knew I was going to Bama.
No one hates Alabama more than the people in the place we just won # 15.. South Florida absolutely despises Alabama because of Nick Saban. Not sure if any of you listened to the sports talk radio down there while you were there, but they cant stand him. On that note though. RTR!! Road to 16!!
When Coach Saban came to Tuscaloosa, I do not think he realized that his new University was what it really is and has been
for a long, long time. The spirit and tradition and culture of the U of A is quite unique and uncommon. There are other, what
I call "royalty", schools: NDame, So Cal, Mich, Ohio State, Texas, Okla, Nebr. who can claim special status as well. However,
I do not believe they are our equal today and we can thank CNS for restoring us to our rightful place, but I believe even he
would admit that he has but built on a foundation laid and developed by Giants before him. Glad he is ours now and I hope
he does stay for a good long time yet. If so, our special status will only grow more, as we all know it should and will. RTR!
You're right.. They have one of those unhealthy hates for Coach Saban.. I try not to listen to that stuff.. It's mainly people trying to make themselves feel better by spewing their garbage over the airwaves.. However, it is good for a nice laugh every now and then.. Roll Tide my friend..
This brings up something I have been wondering about for a couple of days. Granted, Saban is a GREAT coach, but I think there is truly something special about Alabama. No other coach has come close to accomplishing the things elsewhere that they have at Alabama. This includes Saban. Before Alabama, he had never had 2 10 win seasons back to back. I think Saban knows the aura of the University of Alabama helps him just as much as he does it. That's why he's not going anywhere.
Ya walking to class everyday and looking at BDS is nice little treat I get
RIP Lil Julio
I've lived here in MI for over 30 years and this week I've noticed more than ever a show of respect for what CNS and our staff and team have accomplished. However, the jealousy is still extremely strong and there are the haters who claim everything they can against Bama and SEC from oversigning, gray-shirting, cold weather up here to "is CNS leaving for the pros?" It just gives me a chance to explain what these terms mean as they usually have no facts but just some media-hype on oversigning, etc. Of course, those same type haters are in the other SEC fan-bases--especially over at the cow college. I'm surrounded here by my UM, MSU, Ohio ST and ND friends, and I'm always proud to wear my Bama stuff and get a reaction wherever I go--usually positive and respectful. If you want to read a great article, google the Detroit Free Press artice by Drew Sharp in Jan 9th edition's lead sports section. RTR!!

Changing lives for the better like a champion.
phillipians 4:13 CAN-DO all things through Christ which strengthens me.
You still have the same butt-hurt fans here in MI from Spartan fans, in LA from lswho fans, and there in Miami from Dolphin fans---all in common just can't get over Saban leaving them cause they know he would have made their programs much better than they are today. What they don't get is CNS could never make their programs into what Bama is today because they are NOT Alabama!!
