"The (All In) Family"
Saban hired Steve Marshall in 2007 to be the OL coach but he then left for the Browns prior to coaching a game. After the Browns had stops at Cal and Colorado.
Though with Saban a name could come out of left field that nobody had ever heard of or had on their radar prior to the announcement .
I dunno. I don't see any of them getting it. I think it will be someone we haven't thought of.
I would think either Croom or Samuels would be great at fits. Chris is on staff now and would be easy move. I would feel great with anyone coach would pick. Roll tide
Trooper isn't an OL coach, right?
But can we out bid the Cowboys for him?
Croom just went to the pros. I doubt hes leaving
I really don't believe that expression applies anymore. Saban goes for the best of the best - not the best with UA ties.
He's not a coach at all. Just a recruiter / cheerleader.
I think Croom was hired at Cleveland as RB coach,he was at Detroit as same position coach...RTR
He's a pimp...with a toy whistle around his neck.
Will Friend/ Chris Samuels
Eveytime we have a coaching vacancy, someone has to mention Croom. Why is this? He didn't really set the woods on fire recruiting @ MSU. Yes I know BAMA is a different situation, but the man just doesn't stike me as someone that wants to be working the hours Saban requires.
I think he'd work his tale off, but I doubt Saban goes after him. It'll be some dude who is a good recruiter and has NFL ties. But that narrows it down to about 50 people. Color me not concerned.
If he is changed, that would be a possibility. All of the MSU fans that I talked to and seen post on the message boards wanted him gone because they all said he was a lazy recruiter.
Sly has never coached OL as far as I know.
Croom is a new hire on the Titans staff. Not sure he would leave the Titans without coaching a single game there.
Samuels. Former all American, NFL all pro. Best tackle in the league (college & pro) during his day. Would be great recruiter perfect for the Mobile area which is his hometown and where he did some high school coaching. Has established relationships with the Mobile/Baldwin coaches as not just recruiter but as a former colleague

Never Gets Old
Unfortunately, great players don't always equate to good coaches. I trust Saban.
