Update: shooters name is Adam Lanza..who is the brother of Ryan. Shooter had switched identity on him.
Spot on and takes balls to say so.
What is wrong with people!! Smh. Poor kids they had to go so early. It just ain't fair. But no matter the age.... These massacres that have been happening are just sickening. It makes me feel like I have to be cautious where ever I go. Prayers sent smh
Somebody needs to make this a part of required continuing education for journalists.

According to something that she tweeted to Coach Murphy she did have family at the school and she and her family went there to be the family in Connecticut.
People just suck
How can any of the SURVIVING kids ever be normal after witnessing something as horrific as this?
I cannot believe this guy was "on the streets" with all the information they had on him already...

Maybe the end of time IS approaching on the 21st. If this is what we're all heading for, count me out...
Agree. I couldn't imagine loosing one of my kids. May God comfort every family involved.
We need to lift the stigma we as a society have placed on seeing a specialist about mental problems and tell people it's okay to get help. We grow up making fun of people with ADD or ADHD or depression, what have you, and then tell these kids (and adults) to man up and deal with their problems. There's nothing weak about getting help; hell, it's the mature, adult thing to do, not sit around in denial like some prideful asshole.
Some people need help. They shouldn't feel uncomfortable to do so.
When I hear news like this, it acts as a reminder to me that life is not something to be wasted. Today it's a classroom full of kindergarteners. Only a few months back it was a movie theater. Years ago it was college classrooms just like the ones I've been sitting in every day up until this week. And we have it easy - in Damascus this is every day life.
It's easy to say "who cares about football at a time like this?" and I can't blame anyone for feeling that way. But there's nothing you can do for the victims. The best thing you can do is enjoy your life to its fullest, and if football makes you happy, then that's that. Some 20 kids never really got to begin their lives. Don't make the mistake of wasting yours.
Don't bother trying to understand his thought process. When you're not right in the head, even a right-from-wrong scenario as fundamentally clear as putting a bullet in a small child stops being so obvious. I suspect this kid was showing signs of mental illness which were ignored, and that's a problem.
One of my favorite quotes comes from, of all people, Marilyn Manson on the Columbine shooting. When asked what he would have said to the kids given the chance, he replied "I wouldn't have said a single word to them. I would have listened, and that's what nobody did." Hopefully, the media won't try to find a case of scapegoat (Manson, Hitman, etc.) for this one and just call it what it is: a deranged sociopath with a warped, if any, sense of morality.
I am interested in how he acquired the guns. He obviously didn't legally purchase them, so a gun control argument carries little weight (and considering the passionate beliefs on the subject around here, I wouldn't want to go there anyway). My best guess is that he got them by mail order (a la Columbine) or from someone who had obtained them legally (e.g. stole them from a friend's dad). Were any of the guns illegal to possess outright?

Yep, and I'm setting here wondering what my two young kids will see once I'm in the ground.......It all starts in the home, and I really think that an all-access internet, violent tv shows, and video game doesn't help matters.
I used to laugh at my great grandmother for saying stuff we watched on tv was bad, etc. If only she could see what's on today.....
The stress in the world on each succeeding generation is more and more than the preceding one. We're already feeling stresses to levels unforeseen in OUR generation. I feel so sorry for the kids that will grow up with air unsafe to breathe, with killers on the road looking to rob them for their lunch, or invade their home just for a crack hit without any regard to dying because they already feel dead...
So much sorrow...
The guns were legally purchased, including the semi automatic Bushmaster .233
Not sure why this warrants a down vote as I'm just stating a fact that has been confirmed by law enforcement. I hate that the facts are inconvenient, but that's not my fault.
