Since I've been living in Houston (about 6 mo's), I've become a pretty big fan of the Texans. I even made friends with Shaun Cody, #95 (neighbor in my apartment building). But I don't get the whole wearing of NFL jerseys by grown men thing. When I was in college in the 80's we didn't even wear colors to games. There ought to be a man rule that you don't wear jerseys after you're 16 years old (unless you are family-then I get it). Call me homophobic but it kind of creeps me out.

Dude, get over it.
I agree, I find the NFL commercial that has the guy asking for Stephen Jackson's jersey after it was sweaty very creepy!
I don't think its "cool" to wear a jersey, but to each his own. And I definitely don't see the point in starting and angry rant thread about it, lol
Different in the NFL.
I've got a Bucs jersey and wear it on gamedays sometimes, but haven't worn a Bama jersey since I was a little kid.
I see it this way... I wear what I want, when I want. And I don't worry about what other people say or think. And if you think its creep for an adult to wear a Bama Jersey... You may not wanna go to a game. You will be creeped out the whole time. Smh
I think it is fine for men to wear nfl jerseys. However, wearing the jersey of a teenager in college is a different story.
College Jerseys don't have names on them. That # has been worn by tons of players for YEARS.
Wish I had a nickel every times this comes up. I would have enough to buy a jersery.
I do agree that S. Jackson ad does not paint the ones who do wear jerserys in a good way.
I also agree that there is a different set of rules for NFL fans. It seems to be widely accepted to wear a jersery. I'm around a lot of guys from the north who like pro ball more than college and they all have jerserys. I have no issue with it. Or a number of other so called fashion rules I've read on here.
Wear what ever you like be yourself.
I'm currently laying in my cot in Northern Afghainstan and would be thrilled to wear a jersery right now. Hope you all have a Happy New Year and please be safe. RTR.
Kinda weird how NFL fans go crazy with jerseys.
I've never been a big fan of wearing them myself, but when Coach Saban came along, I got the bright idea for me and the whole family to get jerseys. Took a while to win my wife over, but she finally caved.
It's more of a fun family thing to do for us, though my wife might disagree.
I work to buy and wear whatever I choose too.

I have always liked jerseys and I will always wear one from time to time, and I don't give a rats ace whether anyone on this board approves or not.

I just do not think it matters. I do not wear team jerseys, but I could care less if someone else does. I do not think it is a great look for me personally. In fact, I look horrible in a jersey!! When I was a kid, I rocked a jersey all the time! I thought the reversible jersey was the greatest thing ever. In elementary school , I rocked the #58 Derrek Thomas KC jersey and a #97 Cornelius Bennett Buffalo Bills jersey. I will say this, hardcore NFL fans wear jerseys all the time. They spend a ton of cash on those things. If you want to wear a jersey, wear a freaking jersey... If you think it is a bad look, then do not wear one.

Nike broke the record for jersey sales this year....so I think there are many, many people who don't agree with the OP.
