Down vote all you want....I am an Anthony Grant man!
I agree that folks are jumping off the bandwagon a little too soon.
Basketball is different from football as I've seen many teams struggle in Nov/Dec only to put it together in March when it matters. Honestly, I think Coach K has intentionally tinkered with his line-up early in the season in the past only to find the right playing rotation and team chemistry towards the end of the season.
I'm still confident in Grant and the B-Ball team.....as again, this isn't football where a couple of early losses ruins your season.
For the record, the Cameron Crazies wanted Coach K gone after Year 3 in Durham when the team went 11-17 [after going 10-17 in Year 2]. Glad the administration was patient.

Coach K was the exception, not the norm. You can't just pull the Coach K card for every time a young coach struggles in his first few years. More often than not, it means things are not working out.
I'm so sorry.
I am sorry.... I don't see it. Explain your loyalty to this guy. It reminds me of wanting to hang on to Shula..
I'm indifferent at this point... but you didn't say WHY you're still a fan of his? We're not winning, we had leadership and maturity issues last year, the team seems to be regressing, all of the players are his own recruits, etc, etc. Again, I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other, but why?
I am as well. Today was very tough to take and I will admit that I am concerned. I believe in Coach Grant and his style of play, even though I understand that he also has to recruit better to compete. I can give him some slack for a couple of the recruiting classes but I am very concerned about the team's effort and intensity based on the past couple of games. I did not expect to see this from a Grant coached team after year 2, when he had a few spoiled CMG players still on the squad. I let it slid year 3 because of how young we were but at this point, it is unacceptable.
I hope this team and this coaching staff take a hard look at themselves over the break and commit to 100% effort every game, win or lose, no matter who we play. If they do this, I will stay loyal to the end. Have fun and play like it.
For the ones who want him gone today, I suggest we give him at least the same time as CMG after his last trip to the tourney. He has at least earned that by not chasing the coeds around town.
The problems he had in his first year are the problems we are having now.
I think he is a good coach. I'm just not sure that he can win at Bama. Our guys are certainly not buying in. I'm not sure the type of player he can get at bama can do what it is that he is trying to do.
It can be summed up in one word, " denial ". Our team is lost with no leadership. There will be no progression until leadership is established. Coach has had enough time....it's time to go.
At least we know he's not leaving to take a better job....Not on the most wanted list right now for sure. That being said....Im fine with Grant right now. Two years from now if we're still losing to bad teams I won't feel the same way. He needs to find some big men that can battle in the paint. We don't have good enough shooters to be a guard oriented offense.
Its hard to take when you see roster mismanagement and the problems we had last year with our two best players. And dont forget our total inability to put together an offense. I like defense and building your team around it but you've got to score points.
Its understandable why people are mad about our situation with our big guys. Someone made a funny the other day about Grant wanting to sign a Hungarian badminton player that once watched a basketball game on tv. Thats not to far off what we were stuck with this year till he got hurt. Its truly a SMH moment. And our other big is a project to. Thats the reason people are ready to jump off the bus. Mismanagement.
"We're modern-day gladiators, and that mental toughness is really important to have in a good team." Nick Saban
I'm with you but I am afraid the tide is turning with the fans. Once that starts its hard to stop it.
Everyone needs to understand that Alabama is playing a bunch of sophomores and a freshman. They have zero inside presence. Jacobs hasn't developed and Moussa isn't a very good basketball player. And........this is Alabama Basketball, not Football......lower your expectations appropriately. Making the NCAA tournament is the goal....a goal they can still attain.
I'm no doubt frustrated by this team's effort, but not ready to jump off of the ship just yet. This team is severly undermanned this year. And before you guys bring on the "That Grant's fault" argument, I'll beat you to it by saying, you're exactly right. I'm in no form or fashion making any excueses for Grant or this team. Trying to jump start a basketball program is a rollercoaster. Yeah, we'd all like to see a steady progressive improvement from year to year, but the reality is, it doesn't always happen like that. You're going to take some lumps and bruises. We got rid of some bad apples from last year's team, but we also got rid of some talent.
A lot of people were singing his praises last year when we made the tourney, and it was a helluva coaching job to make the run that we made towards the end of the season. But we have a team full of sophmores practically...and ONE senior (who is injured), with no inside presence. This team is very limited. Now while I'm not jumping off the ship just yet, I will say that the clock is indeed ticking for CAG. He absolutely HAS to get some big man talent in here. When these guys are juniors and seniors, and we have a decent inside presence, I think it will make a world of difference.
This is his 4th year, please, please don't give me the "we are young" spill. Basketball, unlike Football generally, can, and has been, turned around in a couple of years bc it takes only a few stars to make a great team. I don't know, I was very excited about the Grant hire, but there has been zero improvement from CMG to now, IMO.
