Is now monitoring athletes' checking accounts. Does Bama do that?
I remember someone saying all car purchases are vetted.
Besides being an invasion of privacy I am not sure what good this would do as I doubt that people who are cheating are not dealing in cash.

Actually I disagree. This is privacy concern.
Not a privacy concern at all if student and parent (if kid is minor) sign a form. There are banks, gov agencies and other business that keep an eye on a person's credit and accounts. I would think they would only need a balance and a list of credits and deposits on a monthly basis.
If they choose to not participate then they can choose another school. They have an option...
