My biggest problem ,is the team is unwatchable.I would not stay at home on a Saturday to watch this team much less pay to watch
At some point, and maybe that point is the end of the fifth year, the old fallback "our guys always play hard" just doesn't cut it anymore.
Everyone seems to agree that we have several talented players, but in my opinion, that talent goes un-maximized.
I don't know what the answer(s) might be, but the proof is in the pudding. Our guys this year have built leads in the second half of games and then literally disintegrated before our eyes. I hope CAG can tap into unrealized potential next year and give us the product on the court we deserve, as fans and paying customers.
Just for some perspective, teams lose leads on the road in conference games all the time. It happened to the best coach in the league last Saturday. Not to excuse it, but it is fairly common. Visiting teams get leads, start playing tight, home crowds get into the game and the home team gets inspired and comes back to win. They usually get some help from the refs too. It's not just a CAG thing by any means.
The obvious glaring weakness of Grant's program is the big men.
Early in the year, when I saw we weren't going to get anything out of the ones we have now, I stopped watching basketball. A team without quality big men is not going to beat any quality opponents.
Its stark testimony to the shocking weakness of the SEC that Bama is one of the better teams this year.
Heres the thing,.....IF there aren't any QUALITY big men in the Al, Ms, Ga, Tn, and north Fl area, then I won't blame CAG for not having any. The weakness of the SEC suggests that may be the problem.
Am I wrong?
