I was talking with a Michigan fan about Denard's chances of seeing the 2nd half in Dallas, and he asked me about the total number of QBs that had been knocked out of games during Saban's tenure.
Off the top of my head i can remember McCoy, Brantley, Driskell, Jefferson, and Cousins. I know there are more.
I'm sure someone will take this post in a negative way. I am in no way advocating intentionally injuring players. When you play defense in the physically imposing manner in which we di, it is just inevitable. It specifically applies to Denard because the way he plays QB really puts him at risk of injury. That is just a chance you take when you play that style, especially against a Bama D.
second string guy at MSU as well, Ryan Mallet (javier go him) and i know there has to be more!
My mom and Paul "Bear" Bryant's mom had something in common....They didn't raise anything but a winner!
Didn't we pound TW out of the Arky game last year also?
Don't think he was hurt, they just pulled him cause the game was out of hand
Whatever. I choose to believe we broke his leg.
Our pass rush has not always been the best under Saban. Not like 92' when we took out 7 starting QB's that yr. Sometimes we've been great but this is a rebuilding yr on defense. And with a dual threat QB we'll play him like Tebow and Newton. We'll push the pocket and contain. Don't expect a lot of sacks. But we know to shut him down.
Wouldn't really expect it on a sack. More likely him getting waxed by a LB or S trying to cut back over the middle after rolling out and cutting up field

umm TN backup QB if i remember correctly. Hightowers vicious hit didn't do it but one hit later on did. Had to play a freshman in the 4th qtr I believe
Jefferson left the 2009 and 2010 LSU games early.
Wasn't it Marcel that hurt his ribs that game in 09? Or was it Upshaw?
