What you know about them and how we match up?? TIA & RTR
I think the coach is Obama's brother in law. I also linked a preview of their team below.
I watched them the other night.... Ahmad Starks is a super quick PG that can score/shoot! I think he had 30 the night i watched them. They have a big football type kid player PF that has some skill... He looked to be about 6'7, but he is wide. and the center is a good shooter from trey...
That's all I remember.
They are a pretty good team, won 19 games in the regular season last year. They lost their best player but return everyone else (6 of top 7 players return). Watched a little of their game the other night and the PG Starks looked to be player, he's scored 18 and 33 in their first two games. Hopefully we can get by them and advance because I think the matchup in finals would be an easier game. Nova was terrible last year and lost their top two players and Purdue has already lost to Bucknell.
When is the game?
6 pm on espn2 IIRC
Thursday @ 6. Espn2
This game should be a good test for our team and could be a nice W on the resume in a couple of months. Hope our guys come ready to play and HIT THE BOARDS.
Their program is a perennial cellar dweller. They are improving, but NIT would be a success for them.
But neutral site games are always unpredictable. I think we win by 6-8.
Based on what we've done I'm not expecting a good year AT THIS POINT. We'll be a team this year with a shot to beat anyone, but likely to lose to a lot of teams, because I think we actually are shooting well (averaging 7 made 3's a game compared to 2.5 from last year). But if Jacobs in particular, and Pollard aren't able to produce more we're going to be in some big trouble. Need those 2 big men that we have committed and need them now. We've got no rebounding inside as Jacobs is very unathletic. Almost like if Richard Hendrix played with a slab of concrete tied to both of his shoes.
