Geeze, we can't even say "no homo" any more? What's left that doesn't offend someone? People are too damn sensitive these days.
INDIANAPOLIS -- Roy Hibbert used a gay slur in one answer and a curse to refer to the media in another...
As a professional representing a major brand you can't say something that stupid. Personally I hate the phrase. Not bc of any derogatory sense but just bc you have to be an insensitive SOB to feel compelled to say no homo every time you describe a guy in a positive physical or conceptual manner. Besides that it has a derogatory sense seeing as how it singles out a group and tries to define ones self as not belonging to said negative group (in context to the phrase). Hibbert has been a sfud, why do something this stupid?
You'll never achieve great things until you believe that's what's supposed to happen

Everything about the world revolves around money.

Time of the month?
..because he's human and he was making a joke. Bad timing and not gonna help his team much going into Monday.
I guess Miami will have "Versace" night.
I'm in the camp of anti-political correctness, for sure. Now, I mean no offense to you, but ^^^ this phrase is stupid and used in excess on this site. With respect to the use of it, tell me, why does a poster feel the need to declare his sexuality, in the first place?
Amen. So many people are like omg that dudes a beast (no homo). Which actually makes you sound what you're saying you're not lol
Because he is insecure in it I'm guessing. Frankly I don't have a problem with 99% of the stuff our society feels they must be PC about including the term "homo". Maybe the insecure "no homo" types should just type "hetero" instead.

It'd be even better if they didn't feel the need to clarify their sexual preference. I had no idea masculine insecurity was such a big issue in our society.
You hit it with that first sentence. It's all about advertising dollars. Our moral code was sold out a long time ago. If there's money in it then it's ok, if it takes money out of your pocket it's bad.
Basically if he would have said what he said and ended it with "homo" he would have been invited to the White House and given a medal. But ending it with "no homo" will get him fired and labeled a bad guy.
"We're modern-day gladiators, and that mental toughness is really important to have in a good team." Nick Saban
"Insensitive SOB ...?". Anybody who is that easily offended is an oversensitive pansy - regardless of whether or not it is a smart thing to say in public. Americans are becoming quite sissified.
Exactly right. When someone says no homo it's a jest. I think it's overused online though. Comedians can make fun of everyone yet people like Hibbert are attacked for making a joke. If there was ever a community to laugh about and make jokes it's the gay community. But even if he was being serious whats wrong with affirming who you are? Thats what the whole gay movement is about. Affirming who they are as individuals. Maybe people should just say "im hetero" from now on.
But basically it's another movement vs "the establishment." if you're seen as being "the man" or part of the "establishment" you can't make jokes. If you're radical and free thinking it's ok to make jokes. TV shows and movies can get away with saying and doing anything when it's done in a joking way. But it's ok because everyone knows the type of people that produce movies and tv shows. And they're onthe approved list to make jokes.
It doesn't matter what's in the persons heart when making the joke. It's all about the mileage you can get out of it and how it appears when a non approved person does it. It's all about the headlines, which is the driving factor behind political correctness. The real truth or meaning is lost and replaced with a fake version of reality that sees everything as being born of hate. It makes people into the bad guy when there was never hate in the first place. It forces you to tip toe around words that have been deemed hateful. It's so stupid. PC is just a tool used by some to allow them to "identify" the bad guys.
Same could be said for all the men who can't say anything about another man without requiring a, "No homo." What was once a joke has basically become a required phrase of proving you're still, "manly." Masculine insecurity is just as sissified as anything else.
I disagree, in today's age of public figures needing to be robotic as you spelled it out, it is very refreshing to see someone free and loose. Why does he have to be afraid to offend anyone? IMO people need to get the heck off their high horse.
No homo. What are you gonna do about it?
You sir are correct
New respect for you dog. Some of your post are crazy but this one is spot on.
if we are going to be honest the Country has been over run by a bunch of spastic pansies.
or perhaps you would prefer the political twist ?
they've spun "correctness" to a point that the right of free speech is moot & now they are going for the guns.
I'm convinced some people and groups have a graduate degree in "how to be Offended,"
terrible troll attempt.
"Screw the homos"?
Ironic post is ironic.
Amen to that. I'm not offended by the phrase personally, but I've always just thought it was incredibly sophomoric. Unintentionally making a sexually ambiguous statement doesn't make you a homosexual, so saying "no homo" after every conceivable incidence of that kind of just seems like you're a bunch of self-congratulatory dudes high fiving each other solely because you don't happen to desire each other's dicks in your mouth.
