I was victim. I got a PM from some of you describing a April Fools joke of sorts where BOLers and Barners would go together and IRON BOWL TBB and "take it over".
It was to start at noon today.
I participated, not that its my thing, I'm not a TBBer, but just for fun.
I was then banned both on TBB and here. The BOL ban was what hurt. Thankfully the great staff here at BOL rectified that situation.
Just fair warning, I think the poster that lured me in was BetterOff or something.
+1 to you. I was in the same boat. Fortunate that 247 has the best staff in the business but still damn inconvenient.
noted... thanks for the heads up
The same thing happened to me, +1. I didn't feel "Better Off" at all.
I actually felt embarrassed that I was duped. Didn't know if I should post or not. Felt like I owed it to others to let them know.
Matter of fact, I would like to know what the policy is for this. I would go on TBB and ask but I'm banned. I participate in a solicited April Fools Day joke, post the subjects that were mentioned(no curse words or other inappropriate material) and am left hanging in the wind. Lucky and Dan in support (great job and quick response btw) quickly lift my ban here. 1) How is it that a user mod on TBB has the ability to ban a paying customer from this site? 2) Were the instigators of this prank banned?
Well, I won't get into all that jazz..I'll just know that TBB isn't a place for me.
It does raise an interesting point. Just picking a staff member from another 247 site with name recognition here as an example, could Philip Marshall ban me from BOL? Not that he would, but in theory? Obviously he could ban me from AuburnUndercover, but a site not under his control? Seems like a TBB mod should only have powers over TBB.

Precisely so. If this is a glitch, I hope Dan is all over it. If not, I think there need to be some serious policy meetings over this kind of thing. Among topics:
1 - what qualifies a user to be a mod. We all pay the same.
2 - what should be done to the confessed organizers of a prank if random participants are banned? I think we may have a serious problem with playing favorites on TBB, which leads us back to 1. I think a mod that bans some posters and not others for the same offense has disqualified himself.
3 - address this issue with site wide bans. No other site employee, let alone an uncompensated user on a power trip, should have that kind of power IMO.
Thanks in advance, Lucky and company.

No. There really was a big PM chain. You just weren't invited.
(I was also duped by BetterOff)

Betteroff was not banned despite telling everyone about instigating it. It's no big deal, TBB is just terrible. I only look at it when I'm actually trying to do nothing productive whatsoever.
We are focused like a laser on preventing trolls from eating.
i know your pain from firsthand experience, as i too was led astray by mischievous posters, only to suffer a ban. no one can truly heal the suffering you felt from being an outcast, but i promise to upvote you at every opportunity, so that you'll always feel like you belong on 24/7.
TBB is trash. Nothing but a few posters that have nothing better to do than post all day long and troll people. It's a cess pool of race baiting and homphobic posters that do nothing but fight over everything. It's an embarrassment to the 247 network.
"We're modern-day gladiators, and that mental toughness is really important to have in a good team." Nick Saban
I only occasionally visit to read about football. What's all this gay-baiting stuff?
O.K., I am the village idiot, but what is TBB? Thanks.
It's a place where posters go to get banned for posting football threads.
I had to ask for a link as well. Ur no idiot.
It is the main message board for the 24/7 network. All fan bases can participate and post in it.
What it ends up being is 10% are the smart/funny posters from many team sites that are interesting to read. 20% of it is them posting about unrelated crap like shows you don't watch, games you don't play, etc. 70% is trolling.
It's such a waste of time to plow through the BS and I regret it literally every time I go on there.
It was supposed to be for the 2nd not the 1st.
A few posters jumped the gun
But it's not a real place IMO. You either click or you don't. Regret? I mean that's between you and your conscience IMO.
