We went for Clemson(08) & va tech(09) so traffic might be worse...but we parked and had no problem getting out and onto interstate. Not as smooth as Dallas, but very well done.

Getting out of Dallas was a breeze compared to ATL.
Vince Lombardi was asked how it felt to have the best football team in the world. He replied, I don't know. We haven't played Alabama yet.
Just remember in 2000 or 01 can't remember but got stuck in garage for like 2 hours
One other ? - Is it safe at the Marta parking areas for your car....
Where did you park? Which lot?
Edit: just checked on Georgia Dome site about pre purchasing parking passes and it says sold out for SEC. Do they sell all spots pre event? Does that mean if I drive down there they will turn us away??

MARTA is awesome. Especially if you want to drink and not have to worry about driving. I take it from my friends place in Buckhead. It is easy to get to the Georgia Dome on MARTA in very little time. Getting back however since everyone leaves at the same time is a bit of a wait if you are going north. Other directions are much easier. You can try walking east to get on at a different station (Five points) or just go out for awhile locally and party while the crowd thins which is what we usually do.

If you are in the lots North or East of the city your car will be fine. West is sketchy. (I-20) ... Just don't leave anything in your car that would entice someone to break in.
Do you go through College Park if you are coming from Alpharetta? And why is college park bad?
It's bad b/c that's where $Cam is from and as Elvis so eloquently put it : it's the GHETTO
Do you know if I come from Alpharetta would I go through college park?
No you won't. Alpharetta is NE Atl and college park is SW

In 2009 we walked about a block to get on the Marta. We arrived at the Georgia Dome enjoyed fan day and the game. Went got back on the marta and it took us back to the station at our hotel. That was so nice. No problems at all. You can print a map and it will show you where it runs.
I'm coming from nashville so im guessing I'd be coming through the Chattanooga area. Where would be a ideal spot to get off and take the marta to the dome? Im hitting the road now, so I'll check throughout the trip for responses. Thanks in advance.
