just said that he thinks Coach Cheeznip will be out by tommorow says he "will be shocked if he isnt out". Its the 24 hour rule still so im gonna talk about Auburn still. Hehe. Monday its all Georgia baby. He also said jay jacobs wants to keep him but jay gouge is overriding him. Also said that the NCAA news is worse than what people are saying.

Good stuff. How is jay Jacobs keeping his job if that's the case.
not sure if i was jacobs i would be on gouges side. Could mean bad news for jacobs to. I forgot to mention paul said Jay gouge didnt even bother showing up at the game said that was unusual.
So much for that $7.5 million buyout.
Let's see, spend $7.5m to get rid of a coach, and then $4m/year on a new one?
I don't know what everyone is so happy about. This will be remembered as a sad day in Alabama football history.

If he isn't gone, well, then we'll know the NCAA problems at *U are MUCH, MUCH worse than even we could have imagined...
1960 Les Paul
Just read a decent article from Josh Moon ( I know...) but it is pretty clear that auburn leadership needs to clean house like we did before we hired Coach Saban. They need to hire a "homerun" coach but I just don't see that happening with the NCAA mess. I don't think they are ready to cut loose the old cronies and PFD crowd.
Good for us...
I agree that we are much better off with him as coach. However, all good things must come to an end. Given that he has to go sooner or later, leaving now is better for Bama simply because that plus the potential NCAA issues almost guarantees they lose the pillars of what is a pretty good recruiting class. Someone posted the other day that they will most likely lose all the 5*'s and most of the 4's. I know they may very well lose some of these already but just increases the odds. All this makes it more difficult to hire a better coach and sets the program back a few additional years. If all this happens this will be remembered as "The Dark Years" in the future for them.
Them making this change during an NCAA investigation is awesome. It greatly limits the possible candidates and completely eliminates the "home run" hire.
Gussy would be their best option right now and I'm not sold he would be willing to risk his career on what the NCAA might do.
I think it will be more like "Chizik resigns after much prayer". Remember, Auburn doesn't fire their head coaches. LOL
Exactly. Chizik resigns while auburn graciously pays his settlement.
It makes me so mad that a prestigious university like Auburn U.& the distinguished leadership of Gogue & Jacobs..uh, uh, uh, I mean Pat Dye, would dare let Jim Chizzzznipsqueak go after holding that crystal football in the air just two short years ago. Why, they've never even held one before. You'd think they would keep 'ol Jim and get rid of everybody else. Why oh Why oh Why? What are these people thinking?? I'm gonna miss him and his no teeth smile...I was telling my friend about people making fun of his never showing his teeth. She thought I was nuts...then, the last few games and all the press afterwards, she started noticing the same thing. She said yesterday, "Does he have any teeth?" LOL It sure is great to be a BAMA fan!!
