If you could pick any player from another team to add to our team who would it be?
Defense: clowney(I don't think we lose a game with him)
Offense: marquise lee
Clowney on defense, and maybe Tyler Eiffert on offense (a dynamic TE would make our offense unstoppable).
Offense: Nupe Hopkins from Clemson
Defense: Clowney or Demontre Moore from A&M
This may sound crazy as I think Clowney is the best defensive player in the country but I believe I would take a player like Eric Reid or Jonathon Banks on D. The biggest reason is b/c I believe these are our two positions on D that need the most help. While we have talented player their adding a first round talent into that position would make it a strength.
If we are using this player just for this game then I would definitely take Reid as I think he would matchup extremely well with Eiffert.
Just so you guys don't think I have lost my mind the question I asked myself was... if I had to would I trade Dickson for Clowney or Sunser for Reid? I would take Reid b/c Sunseri is probably going to be the one matched up with Eiffort the most. I also think Sunseri is the weakest part of our D. I think there is a much bigger dropoff from Sunseri to Reid than there is from Dickson to Clowney.
On offense I think I would take Zach Ertz from Stanford as he fits our O better than Eiffert does. We could probably use another WR like Lee but I want to smash ND with the run and having a great TE would aid that approach more than a WR. My second pick was the Cooper kid from NC for a guard. Having he and Warmack would be deadly blocking. Two of the best OG's to come out in years.
This was tough
Defense- Elam from UF
Offense- Lutz from barn
Jadeveon Clowney; a pass rusher would have made us absolutely unbeatable this year.
Elam is a good pick IMO also. I was torn b/t he and Reid at the safety spot. I gave Reid the nod b/c I watched him steal the ball from a 6-6 TE already :) Didn't know if Elam had that in him or not.
Reid definitely has the measurables, would prob match up better with Eiffert. I picked Elam because of his mean streak...
The secondary would be better if we had a great pass rusher, so Clowney over Reid. It's hard to cover someone when they have all day to run free

I think the struggles of our pass rush have been somewhat exaggerated. We're 3rd in the conference in total sacks. Over the course of the year, we've given up some big plays down the field, that's why I chose a Safety.
Clowney on D. No doubt.
Sammy Watkins in O. He's a game changing deep threat, he's a game changing return man, and he's a great runner on WR sweeps. He would upgrade several phases of our offense and special teams more than any player I can think of.
You'll never achieve great things until you believe that's what's supposed to happen
Jalston Fowler. Oh wait....
I agree we're not as awful as some say our pass rush is but it seems we are never in the backfield disrupting the QB like upshaw did for us, and also I think our safety's are not to far off from the talent of Reid but we have no one on the feild capable of Clowneys talent.JMO, I hope Anderson or Allen next year can get some time and be a great pass rusher
I hear you but Reid is just nowhere near the prospect that clowney is. Reid isn't anywhere near as good as Barron was and Reid is a good player. Banks as well, he is not Kirpatrick, Claiborne, Miliner, or Gilmore. It's just not a good year for DBs. I think Clowney as he is an generational talent at DE.
On offense I want to say Manziel because the ONLY thing that would kill us in an injury at QB. If you are assuming that's impossible just for the discussion I would go Lee
The guys I thought of after just reading the OP were Eric Reid and Cincy's Travis Kelce, so we're on the same page.
I'd settle for Clowney and Lee too though.
Completely agree on Clowney. I'm just not sure how much a pass rush is going to matter as I think ND is going to get rid of the ball in under 2 seconds everytime and move the pocket where a pass rusher just isn't as important. Plus, I think Hubbard and Dickson are good pass rushers. I think both end up first or second round picks so I don't think the gap is nearly as large b/t them and Clowney. However, Effiert is a clear mismatch on Vinnie.
While I agree that Reid isn't as good as Barron I think he is a first round pick and will be a really good safety in the pros. So we go from having a below avg coverage guy covering ND's best pass catching threat to having an NFL starter type talent.
Anyways, fun to throw others into our gameplan. Can't go wrong with Clowney though which is why I brought him up first. I just thought I'd trade our worst player on D for the best player in the nation at his position as opposed to exchanging a first and second round type of talent for a number one overall pick. I'll also be surprised if we really rush the passer anyways. We haven't put much of a pass rush on any running qb. Therefore, I thought it was more beneficial to add a better cover guy.
I would agree if teams actually had all day to throw. Teams aren't beating us with all day to throw though. They get rid of the ball quick (most times) and we just cant cover them.
Also, this team has more sacks than any team Saban has had at Bama. While that's a bit misleading as least year's D was better and seemed to have a better pass rush I will say your pass rush also looks better when you have 3-4 guys that are first round draft picks type talent in the secondary.
Clowney or possibly the DT from Utah. Guy is disruptive
Lee or Watkins on O
Clowney and Sammy W
Never Gets Old
Or trade Bleau for Banks. He pisses me off every game with blown coverages, he never looks back at the QB
Exactly. Give me Clowney on D and Fowler on O... And not just for his RB skills. We're already loaded on Offense and have skill players galore. We just need those guys to be healthy.
Marqise Lee on the O
D Moore on the D
On Alabama: CeCe Jefferson - "It was a bunch of beautiful women..." Reggie Ragland - "oh the females of course..."
Clowney on D, Marqise Lee on O. Honorable mention to Malcolm Mitchell and Todd Gurley.
