Ate at a local Mexican Resteraunt on Skyland Blvd yesterday for lunch and was sat next to two starters on D and their two girlfriends (it must pay off to be a player on campus because their looks couldn't land these girls !!! LOL).
Anyway, I acknowledged them with a "Hey fellas", I watched three or four men in their 30-60 come up to them and speak. Each was quick and encouraging to these young men. But one quick encounter stuck with me and I wanted to share...
An older man and wife came up and asked how excited they were about the events of Saturday night. The players acknowledged they were watching, flipping back and forth between The Stanford and Baylor games. And then the man asked if they were excited about the possibility of playing Notre Dame and their tradition. One of the players, stopped drinking his drink, looked the man in the eye and said, "I dont know about Notre Dame but they doesn't have tradition like Our school does (this player was born in '92), and we are playing our biggest rival THIS week, who embarrassed us in our place two years ago, in our house....That's all I think about... Dream about, doing my job and beating those guys"..... Awesome!!!!
You can bet your a$$ Coach has reminded them of 2010 as a motivation factor this week. I heard a nfl talk show yesterday and Mangini (sp) talked about Belichik and Parcells being the greatest motivators of all times. He remembered as an assistant under Belichik they could play a 2-10 team and by gameday be worried about losing. I like to believe Coach Saban can do this as well, but I think at the college level that switch is harder to flip on and off.

Our prayers will be answered!
Anybody else think the Friday night movie should be the 2010 game?
Buckle down. Take down the Barn. One at a time and all will be resolved in a Crimson manner......
Born in '92 huh?
"You feeling satisfied now Teddy?"
Cool story brah. Love the focus. I almost feel sorry for those poor barners. NOT.
We can educate them about Notre Dame in a couple of weeks.
That narrows it down.
I looked it up...
Believe it or not but many folks weren't around for the Notre Dame stuff. I certainly wasn't.
Thanks for sharing
