Because in my opinion the last thing the national media wants is 3 straight national championships and 3 straight Hiesmans from the State of Alabama
LSU did line up against Oregon at a neutral site AND WV on the road. I am as amazed by this defense as anyone, but if we are being objective we have to acknowledge that we have played some VERY BAD offensive teams...
Total Offense Rankings...
Arkansas - 23
Penn State - 78
Florida - 89
North Texas - 111
Vanderbilt - 116
Ole Miss - 117
Kent State - 120
That being said, you can't watch our defense and without acknowledging that our defense is fast, disciplined, smart and hits HARD. I think Bama and LSU are very evenly matched, but I think our defense is strong against the run AND the pass. As Shane said earlier, I think we will try to take advantage of the running lanes they gave up against UT.

I am guessing the last time was when Reed ran all over us in 2001 (I think he is still running).
But that doesn't really matter for either of our purposes.
But looking at that game, they gave up yardage on the road to one of the best offensive minds in the game with a pretty good QB. LSU made them dink and dunk their way down the field. They never really gave up any big plays. They made them earn it. And they ended up allowing 21 points total on the road. Not great but not horrible. And they went ahead and still won by 26 points.
Honestly as someone posted earlier, why do some of you act as if the only team worthy of praise is Alabama? We certainly deserve it, but so does LSU. So does Oklahoma. So does Clemson and Wisconsin. What is so wrong with that?
LSU has been impressive this year. Just own up to it. That in no way diminishes what Alabama has done.
LSU is good and thats why they get some love...
...BUT its also because all of their big games have been on ESPN and the 24/7 cycle of hype that comes along with it while ours have been on CBS w/ about 30 minutes of hype prior to the actual game. That shouldn't go unnoticed.
