Poor bastards getting off the bus in Tuscaloosa will probably feel like those dumped on Omaha Beach - Unknown Vol's fan
This was the intent of the overreaching NCAA.
Please clarify your remarks for us. Are you suggesting the NCAA overstepped their bounds in the PSU case? If so, please elaborate. Thanks!
Offering a kid the opportunity to continue his education AND play for championships doesn't really strike me as "poaching". These kids didn't sign with PSU with intention of playing 4 years of meaningless football.
I have no problems with the students or schools reaching out. What I do have a problem with is a team like SC that is under sanctions trying to get around those sanctions by poaching players. It defeats the purpose of them being sanctioned in the first place. RTR.
The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.
I think people keep forgetting it was meant to benefit the current players but the means other schools can go about doing it is a bit harsh.
What would you do if you were a player? If I loved the school like Alabama, I would stay. If I attended for other reasons like a shot to get a good education or possibly go pro, I would leave.
I agree. Players should have to initiate contact before coaches can talk to them. Jmo.
