I've been in contact with Lacey's HS coach Jack Doss tonight and he updated me on Trevor's thought process as of now...most of our conversation:
Myself: Coach, any truth to the rumor Trevor is considering a return to UA:
Coach Doss: Trevor is not returning to Alabama.
Myself: Didn't think so...sounded too far-fetched...needs a strong program and coach...hope he visits UNC; still hope Syracuse is in the mix!
I know he came home last weekend and I saw his tweet today about taking visits to make his decision...I wish him luck no matter what he decides...I heard he may visit N.C. State (mistake, IMO because Gottfried can't develop him) & UNC (Roy would be great for him, strong, Hall of Fame coach like yourself)...let me know when he decides...just want him to succeed...I know he can still be what we all expect:
A great player who can elevate his play on the biggest stage in college basketball!
Coach Doss: The few nay sayer Alabama fans will find out in time if they are right or wrong. He thanks the Alabama fans that supports him. Trevor will sign in the next few weeks. God is good. Roll Tide
Myself: Thanks, coach...will always be a Lacey fan!
Coach Doss: Thanks..I will tell him!
To wrap it up: Heard from a good media contact & friend tonight that writes for scout.com...says he talked to a writer for the UNC site...same guy that told him that Justin Knox was transferring from UA to the Tarheels a few years back...told him UNC was confident on Lacey!

I wish Lacey the best. I wished he still was playing with the Tide, but hopefully he goes to UNC and makes good.
****Me: Thanks, 79End...hall of fame post!
Why the downvote, the poster only gave an update
You like to stir the pot don't you big guy? What else can you brag about in your multiple attacking posts?
The OP has a 100 something posts and BOL does not like bad news from anyone under 1000 posts. I don't know why it is that way but it is. Thanks for the info OP.
Dude, he made it up.
I'd like to say thank you for posting but that's a strange conversation you had. Sounds like you don't like Alabama basketball very much.
don't know if he made it up, but lacey is visiting unc, nc state, and miami.

Okay. Let me first say that I am not a huge basketball fan. But I do know a little about the potential to succeed. It starts with the person himself. It sounds as though we have concluded that if it were not for CAG and staff TL would be an AA right now. Hesitant to make that statement because I know so little about those involved but from far away it looks as though the expectations for Trevor exceeded what he was actually capable of achieving. He may have been the best HS player you ever saw but there have been hundreds of thousands of those who couldn't adapt to the next level. Maybe TL will have his jersey retired at UNC. Maybe we will see it really wasn't his coach. I just hope TL is happy.

Regarding my post regarding info about Lacey considering a return to UA - I was not claiming that this was likely to happen. I figured the true UA hoops fans on tho board would be interested to know that these conversations were even taking place.
The fact that people in our program heard this being discussed seems to prove that Lacey is very confused and not really sure what the right thing to do is. I think this can largely be contributed to the influence he is getting from his family.
I agree that the feedback you got from his high school coach is more accurate as to what his ultimate direction will be, however, I wouldn't be so sure to be so confident in any information right now as all decisions will be a two way street...he can want to go to another school without being wanted or without the space to be taken (not implying he's not wanted).
It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I think both of our info adds to the complication of the situation. We just came at it from different ways.
