How does Texas A&M have 34 recruits? Thought u could only have 25 in the SeC?
MODS, it seems we need a (recruiting) FAQs thread or link. Not flaming the OP but things like this get asked over and over. You could make it VIP only. I think it could be very informative and would be frequently visited by us.
Or everyone could just visit BOL religiously like most of us and read the answer a few times.
So u know the answer then?
I wasn't being a smart ass I was serious. Dont you think a FAQ would be a nice feature? The last comment was suppose to be a joke.
It's my understating that (I haven't looked at their roster) it could be 1. Some won't qualify, 2. Back counters (Early Enrollees) that can count against last Years class of they didn't sign 25. 3. Also have to keep eye on total of 85 total roster.
Roger. Sorry I wasn't being one back. Apologize if it seemed that way. Yes he FAQ I dea is a good one.

10/4 roll Tide
We do get asked this about Georgia and Texas A&M a lot, but not a big deal- both teams didn't enroll very many last year and have several midyear enrollees that will backcount. As is the case for everyone, the numbers always work themselves out.

back counters and some of their commits have grade issues.
back counting and early enrollees are two different things.
on back counting:
back counting is a way around the initial 25 counters per year. if we enroll less than 25 one year, we can back count that number to the previous year. bring in 22 one year, you can back count 3 early enrollees the next year.
on early enrollees:
there are two rules that limit the number of early enrollees you can have. the first is the 85 scholarship rule. you can't go over the 85 scholarships with early enrollees (keep in mind that players leaving the team for various reasons affect the scholarship number). so, if you have 80 on scholarship, you can only bring in 5 early enrollees. the other rule is the replacement rule. you are allowed to replace seniors who have graduated by december with early enrollees. so, if you have 5 seniors graduate in december, you can bring in 5 enrollees.
so in the above scenario, 80 on scholarship (5) plus 5 senior december graduates (5) for total of 10 spots available.
