One of my favorite sports columnists is Randy Galloway of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He wrote a column yesterday on recruiting ... is he talking about Robinson in here?
Hooked on all this signing day intrigue.
"No way it's that easy"?
That's exactly why you're a high school coach. This is the first time I've heard anything about Robinson being un motivated, but if it is the case he signed with the right school if you ask me.
Shannon mentioned in a thread the other day that the knock on Robinson is he has an attitude problem and problems with respecting authority, or that he would have been a top 5-10 player overall.
Somebody is upset a guy left the state.
We shall see. If saban can't get him moving then I doubt anyone can
Must have missed that thread. Either way, this article sounds like sour grapes to me. I doubt an article about this "scouting" he did on Robinson is ever written if he signs with UT.
Could be the absolute truth, but it doesn't matter. You can't coach size and speed but you can coach/teach effort and if the young man in question doesn't give the effort he won't play and probably won't stick around.
Wow. Pretty scathing article and he could not have been more obvious that he was referring to Robinson without coming out and saying his name.
I'll take Saban's evaluation over any scout, coach, and certainly over any Texas fan newspaper columnist.
Just pissed the kid left. One thing at Bama is when you are around other top guys, you dont want to be the weak link if you have any kind of competitve drive. If you dont, you find yourself on the outside and possibly leaving over time. If your the best guy on your team or area your not always aware of you need to do to get better and get comfortable. Have a hard time thinking you get comfy at Bama and think, Ahh Im good, dont need to work any harder
When I went from HS to Bama i thought oh, there are some guys that throw just as hard or hit just as far Hmm. Got into pro ball and then your like dam this guy is good that guy is good and pushes you to dial up the focus of your game

My butt hurts just from reading that article. What a loser.
Hey, maybe the kid is like Reuben Foster, and he and everybody around him realized that he needed the tough love and structure that Coach Saban can provide. He certainly wasn't going to get that from Mack Brown at Texas.
Seems like that big boy would just have to completely quit for a guy 7" shorter and 100 lbs lighter to just push him around. I understand the leverage thing but dang that would just be embarrassing to a stud football guy. Idk. Just seems odd
I'm sure Robinson has seen the article and lets hope that he uses it as a motivatng factor going forward.
Crimsonbleeder "If Trent doesn't go pro this year I will eat my car tires"
the article is pointless without a name - a waste of ink. Even if it were about AR your talking about a reporter's eye vs. CNS scouting ability. really? The record speaks for itself here. RTR!
This article could be 100% true and I wouldn't be totally surprised. But Saban obviously would be aware (and it seems like he is since our staff has already alluded to the issue. But Saban is willing to roll the dice and try to help this kid fulfill his potential. Well worth the risk.
Galloway hates Alabama. This is no surprise
Just think, if Robinson had stayed and gone to Texas he could have been motivated and coached up all the way to an appearance in the Holiday Bowl.
Missed opportunity for the young man, if you ask me.
He is. Bookmark the article. Go back to it in 3 years. He'll either have been correct, or shown a fool. Or somewhere in between.
Either way, it's be great to read this again in 3 years.
Its simple, he'll either buy into the process and end up a top draft pick or he'll get processed and Saban will sign another 5* to replace him and we'll win without him.
