While its not exactly shocking, I hate articles like this that attempt to bring up a kids troubled past when he might be making a good faith effort to get on the right path. It's not constructive at all.
I agree, and the other responses lend credence to that point cause its just not surprising.
Have to believe that if he was really working to get on the right path that he might try to be a little more humble.
I was going to post something similar. The guy starts getting a little well known and somebody just has to find some dirt on him and spread the word.
My feelings exactly. I thought about why this blog would even hi-lite this article. I watched Ole Miss lose to KY last night and witnessed some of the antics. He is a show-boat for sure but he has talent as long as no one can put pressure on him. Believe he only had one three pointer last night but I enjoyed watching him. The young man IMHO is trying to right a wrong similar to Josh Hamilton in MLB. Give him a break and stop amplifying the negatives. Sorry but I feel compelled to issue my opinion.
This young man appears to be the product of the same hype machine as Manti Te'o. I watched him play against UK and he bricked all game long. His poor performance didn't appear to have anything to do with the fact that he was playing against Kentucky. He just was drawing iron on most of his shots. On one jumper, I recall, he missed the rim, altogether - nearly an air-ball.
You know, if he's going to act the way he does in a game, he needs to bring it. If he can't play any better than he does, he should consider losing the swagger, in my view.
Deadspin had an article about it a few days ago.
You may not know it yet, but Marshall Henderson of Ole Miss is the most entertaining player in college basketball. Heres everything you need to know about him.
Anyone who antagonizes the AU student section is okay with me.
I thought this was common knowledge. Been out for a while. He is a thug. His antics add to it.
Except for the fact that he pulls crap like that every game and would do it in Ttown if the opportunity presents itself to him.
Guys a punk. I couldn't take any particular joy out of his antics on the farm
There's that word again....."passion" as if it can be used as an excuse. He needs to find out the definition of humble. He did things that the average person may never rebound from due to loss of job, family, etc. And yet he is playing in the national spotlight on a free ride while daddy tries to justify why his probation requirements couldn't be met. Kid has no clue how lucky he is, and if he doesn't figure it out soon...his past will find him.

It's very hard for kids to be humble. When they've been nothing close to humble their whole life. You just don't go from thuggish to humble like turning on a light switch.
