This is from the National Football Post http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Senior-Bowl-Players-Who-Struggled-on-Wednesday.html
Christopher Walsh covers Alabama football for BamaOnline, 247Sports, and is the author of 18 books.
Love the kid. But I rewatched the a&m game recently and he and sunseri were getting abused. Hope lester puts it all together in the league.
Yea, a TE blew him up as he ran a pass pattern.. It was ugly. And he couldn't find the ball on a couple of routes.
I posted before I read the article.....

Agreed. This should come as a surprise to no one. He does a fairly decent job of playing center field, but we didn't really have a safety stick to a quality RB/TE until the NC game. To me, it just speaks volumes as to how good the rest of our defense played this year.
I actually thought about this earlier, as well, when reading the staff's article re: the All-Saban Signees. I know Lester is there, for now, but after next season I think we see HaHa in that spot with Collins nipping at the heels.
"The Lord just wasn't with us, Coach."
"The Lord," grumbled Bryant, "expects you to block and tackle."

Hope he redeems himself the rest of the week.
You read my mind on the All-Saban thing. The long pass he gave up in the Georgia games was inexcusable for player to be in the Bama program for 5 years. And I actually think Collins and Ha-Ha will be starting together.
I think he's had a great consistent career. Don't think he's ever had the athletic ability as a lot of NFL prospects, but when the lights come on, he's kept his job and done well. Think he'll play well in the game. He kinda reminds me of Peprah in regards to a prospect. May struggle in the league at first but provide depth and special teams with spot starter duty.

Hope he does better rest of the week; he seems like a class kid & always has been.
Fact is, Lester isn't a super athlete. He's got below average safety speed and agility, but has good size, hands, and instinct. Mark Barron did so much for us at safety that it allowed Lester to play the run or just play center field on obvious passing downs. This year he had to cover more and was exposed a lot.
Yea. I only remember the UGA game. He and Nico had really bad games in ATL.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
Not surprised. Hope he finishes the week strong. I appreciate him for his role in our championship run.
As poor as Lester played at times Sunseri played worse most of the time. I never understood why fellow Bama fans went ape sh*t crazy when someone in the media made negative comments about our secondary. I would be somewhat surprised to see Sunseri or even Perry to play much more than a reserve roll next year on defense.

Not sure if Lester regressed that much in 1 year or if Barron covered for him that much. Whatever it was there was a big drop off.
He was not very consistent in pass coverage and seemed slow to react to WRs who were more athletic. INTs he made were when he was roaming not in man coverage.
The area that drove me crazy was his open field tackling. The last half of the season in particular he had 12-15 plays where he not only missed the tackle but he barely even touched the opposing RB/WR. I feel it was a combination of not having as much athletic ability and slow to react to plays.
He has been a great guy and enjoyed watching him play his SO/JR seasons but he will have to improve dramatically in the game Saturday and the Combine to get drafted. He was probably a 4th-5th round pick going into this week and may be a FA now.
Spot on comments there...Lester is a great spy, centerfield type guy with really good instincts. He's never going to excel a straight coverage. Regardless I think he has a shot to have a decent pro career.

If he wants to put his name on a car dealership, I'd buy a car there.
I hated it because it wasn't true.
We may have been weak relative to past defenses or maybe the secondary was weak relative to the rest of the team... but not relative to the rest of the ncaa. I think we still had one of the better secondaries in all of college.
While all those guys aren't nfl starters, what secondary in college has all nfl starters? We had more than most.
I have no idea how he held on to his starting job when you just know he wasn't grading well during games. And it was easy to tell that Ha Ha was double the talent that he was.
