I've been a member of Tigerbait for a good number of years now and All I hear is that BAMA Fans are crazy and arrogant(it's pretty convincing when you only hear one side). However when looking at different points of view I can see how many of those guys seem the same way to me. Anyway I just wanted to start a common thread to see how many respectful and level minded Tide Fans are out there. Although I truly wish to beat you in EVERY game we ever play, when we are not playing I generally root for you. I think this LSU squad maybe the best I've ever seen or close to it and I believe you guys are equally as talented and coached. With that said I have a tremendous respect for this years Bama team. I will be in the stadium (sec 515) screaming Geaux Tigers all day but now and after I want to wish you guys luck and say I feel very honored to play a team as good as you. I mean, WOW. No one should be able to stand with us with our talent this year and you guys have us quite scared. Its amazing to me.

Classy post. Gotta love the fans who truly love their team. Roll Tide~

  • I do not have any hate for LSU.

I enjoy and respect our rivalry with LSU.

It did not bother me in the least when LSU won both of their recent NCs.

And my world would not end late Monday night if we should come up short as I am fully aware that LSU is more than a worthy opponent whose players have just as much talent as UA. Will i be disappointed if we lose? Yes, but recently learning that 2 members of family friends have been diagnosed with aggressive forms of cancer places the game in the proper perspective for me.

It is a great and healthy rivarly and I hope it stays that way after Monday.

Thanks for the post, I don't have to like a team to respect the hard work and talent they have. LSU is one I respect, it is a shame that maybe two of the best teams in college football came along the same year in the same Division of the same Conference. Any other year LSU or Alabama wins the NC easy.

I lived in Lake Charles in the early 60s and honestly LSU has always been my 2nd Favorite SEC team. I remember Billy Cannon and the Chinese Bandits of LSU well. I am looking forward to a hard fought Alabama win, I hope both teams have no injuries and am looking forward to doing it all over again next year. RTR

Srsly, every fanbase has idiots who feel 10 feet tall and bullet proof behind a keyboard but I think the most of the negatives, against our fans anyway, comes from a lot of other schools fans just wishing their program was where Bama's (and LSU's) is at right now. That can make any comment from us seem arrogant or entitled as our west GA little sister likes to say. When your team is where both LSU and BAMA is at right now, the rest of the nation is gonna get tired of us kicking their moon

Very classy man. I think both fan bases have a lot of respect for the other. In many ways it's like looking into the mirror especially from a talent standpoint. As far as fans go it's way too easy to say I hate "x" fan base because of "x" etc etc...truth be told I have a lot of respect for most opposing fan bases, it's the 10% of crazies that seems to get the most attention. I guess the same could be said for life in general. With that being said, we're looking forward to an epic battle in the bayou and know that we're in for the fight of the century if we plan on leaving with the crystal ball. It's the old question of what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Well, I think we're going to find out. Thank you for the classy post. This old world needs more of your kind...

I cant be as soothing as the others on here but I do have competive respect for you guys. Inside the SEC I root for whoever helps our cause. I will never root for Awbunn or the coon dogs north of the border no matter what.
Outside the SEC I will root for the SEC team with exception to afore mentioned slugs. All that being said I treat all
fans with humanistic respect (exception stated). And have a few favorites..

    NOW GTFO!

If Bama and LSU created and all star team, we may give the New England Patriots problems, lol. Im stoked about this game. I dont have any hatred for the LSU folks. Sure I want to beat them everytime we play them, but I look at them as another Alabama, just in a different color uniform. Both fan bases seem generally the same and the teams play virtually just alike. They are without a doubt the best 2 teams in college football. If they played 100 times they would probably split it 50-50.

Good luck to you sir and Roll Tide!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's just that yours is stupid.

  • I have respected LSU as a program since Saban was there. Their style of play is what I love as a fan. It also is one of the reasons the Bama/LSU is one of the most intense games for me every year. No matter who is on the schedule..this game is always THE one.

I do feel like recruiting at LSU is ultra easy compared to what the rest of their SEC west foes have to go through. Bama has to fight like hell for instate recruits with Auburn and others like FSU. That's my only beef with the Myles/Saban comparisons. Hopefully, Texas A&M will make you guys work harder throughout Texas at least. I know the Tide has had some success and appears to be even better this year, but it hasn't been easy.

Saying all that....I don't care for a close game. I wanna beat yall ass like a drum.

Classy post, I respect LSU. I went to boarding high school with a bunch of cajuns. Some were crazy, but some were great friends. We had fun with the rivalry then and have fun with it now. Gonna be a great game. RTR

    Quality post, star...

Yes, we have a healthy respect for LSU, and I love going to Red Stick. Got a lot of coonarses for close friends, who always always OVERFEED us every time we go down there, and have been for 25 years...

Here's to a clean, well played game.

    May the best team win!

    Party after! Geaux Tigers!

  • Alabama fans are the most sensitive on the planet. When LSU got upset about Nick Saban coming here, many of us reacted with the same venom.

All in all, I love having LSU as our new rivals. Tennessee isn't good enough, and it's downright insulting to have auburn as a rival.

  • Thanks Bro, very well done indeed.

LSU and BAMA - two of the best football teams/programs of all time (in my view).

Respect for LSU 100% - I think it's a great rivalry and one where the rivalry exists because we want to beat you because you are good - not for any other reason.

it's a better feeling to take it to LSU than to other "schools" because of that.

Congrats on the great season - it's awesome going undefeated, however, Here's hoping that we spoil that tonight. :)

    Roll Tide

btw - have watched every LSU game and have loved every minute of it. it's like watching Bama play. :)

  • Nothing but clenched teeth and a deep chested growl for everything LSU today.. but you mentioned respect. If there is another team that I feel shares the same type of passion(almost the same) from their fans as we have for the Tide, it's you guys. I respect that.

Respect the style of play from the team also. But today will be BAMA's day... LSU has had a magical season but it ends tonight.

    Roll Tide!

Good Post and it's nice to see there are decent fans on both sides. I'll be saying Roll Tide often & loud tonight but it is an honor to play another SEC team for all the marbles.

  • I hate Auburn fans (delusional), I hate Georgia fans (cocky). But by God I have a lot of respect for the insanity that is the LSU nation. I feel like you guys are actually a worthy rival compared to the that red headed stepchild of a program in West Georgia. Really enjoy the fact that our programs are peaking at the same time, and look forward to an instant classic tonight.

  • I had a lot more hatred towards LSU in the past, not exactly sure why to be honest. Bad experiences with individual fans I guess. I've just realized recently how much more respect I have for them now. I used to think Miles was pretty much a joke with his strange comments and lucky trick plays, but you can't take anything at all away from him this year. He's built a juggernaut down there just like Saban has here.

Personally I'm on board with them being our new "rival." The barn can just be that in-state team we beat down every year, while LSU is really our competition. Sort of like how LSU would think of LA-Laf.

I certainly respect LSU. Have had a good time at the airport chatting with all the tigers fans here in dc. Plane is 90%50/50 people going to the game and about 50/50. Lots of chatter for a flight but all good fun.

90% 50/50? is that like 50% of them time, it works every time?

  • Old Gregg said... (original post)

90% 50/50? is that like 50% of them time, it works every time?

No, come on. It's so obvious. 90 percent of the time, there's a 50 percent chance. Then the other 10 percent of the time, it's not a 50 percent chance, but some other percentage. Then you have to drop the highest and lowest number, and average the rest, which makes up 30% of the total formula, and then 6 weeks later, you play the...

I'm sorry, what was the question?
