RF, we got you man.
You had me at "I choose to play for Alabama". Roll tide big fella. I am very excited to see how he develops over the next few years! #beast
Agreed and he is definitely home just by stepping up like he did! I hope that you like National Championships Rueb!
The Dynasty is Here!
Roll Tide Reuben Roll Tide
With open arms Reuben, no question!
"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
The apology should be coming from the people who got on here and made personal attacks on Foster and other young guys CNS was recruiting. As Coach Stallings would say,"that just amazes me."
And to those that were pistol whipped for trying to support the kid and his abilities.
"You don't always get what you want, but you always get what you deserve"
No need to apologize big guy. We have not been in your shoes so we can't judge you and never would. I do know you were pulled in alot of different directions by people you trusted. I can't even imagine the pressure you were under.
All's good now. Great things are to come, Great future ahead of you. You are already one of Bama's favorites. You have a special talent. Follow Coaches guidance. You'll be providing big time for your family in about 3-4 years.
Roll Tide and welcome to the Bama Family!
Is that real? Classy move
Best user name I've seen in a while.
Back when Foster initially flipped to Auburn there were 2-3 posters that continuously, erroneously stated that Foster didn't have the measureables to be an elite LB in college or the NFL. I know who you are but I will abstain from listing your usernames:
Couple of Points:
-Always go with talent over measureables when the player that lacks ideal measureables is a baller. Ex. 1- Back during the Senior Bowl in 2012 [here on BOL] I said I'd pick Russell Wilson over Ryan Tannehill at #8 overall in the 1st Round if I were the Dophins as Wilson is the superior passer and decision maker on film. Coupled with his drive and work ethic.....the Dolphins are making a mistake taking Tannehill. Inevitably several posters said I was "clueless" and that Wilson was way too small to succeed in the NFL. Well........check the archive posts...now check each players 2012 season performance.
-6'1", 240.......Listed size for Ray Lewis, Patrick Willis, and Reuben Foster. Amazes me that this kid is the same size [in high school] as the 2 best ILBs in the NFL in the last 20 years.....but he lacks ideal measureables. Really?.......How can these dudes ball-out in the league but they would be too small to play at Bama. You cats that said that.......leave that puff, puff alone. You mofos high.
-Foster [when in shape] is the best high school LBer I've ever seen in person. I didn't check his height nor weight at the Georgia Rising Seniors Game but as soon as I got on the sideline with the West team....my instincts said "certified physical beast".....and it takes a lot for me to proclaim that about anyone.
If Foster stays healthy and in-shape and does what he needs to do...... He will be a legend when he leaves the Capstone.
Again.....I reiterate......never allow "measureables" to be your primary method of evaluating players. Watch the film and take into account the level of competition the player is facing and how well he produces on the field. I've seen a plethora of folks say LaMichael Fanning is a "freak". Perhaps he is "appearance wise" but Jadeveon Clowney is a freak "on the field".....and that's what matters.
You get out of it what you put into it!
Impressive Kid. His interviews were great too. Got lots of personality. No reason he shouldn't do well enough in the classroom to enroll in May.
I did much worse when I was 18 years old... RTR !!!!!!!!
The results on the field of play don't lie...measurables can deceive and often do...why is it Saban signs some 3, 4 star players every year that turn out to be diamonds in the so called rough ? Because he recruits talent and potential, along with athletic measurables, ability, and a strong desire to compete and continually improve.
Great post BBD.
Roll Tide, Reuben. Can't wait to see you in Crimson.
