A vague article, but not really a positive sign for any hopes of him salvaging his NFL career.
...And before somebody says "it's the Raider's fault", no, it's not.
I wonder if this will be the next Bill Belechick reclamation project. If he can fix Aqib Talib, he can fix anybody.
Talk about a train wreck after he graduated. Geez.
Makes me sad. I suspected he had some issues while he was still here. Someone asked him if he would ever coach and he basically said no because he doesn't really enjoy football, and never thinks about it when he's not at practice or in a game. Only does it because he's good at it and will help him in life. Thought it was a strange comment.
I guess somebody had to take Jamarcus Russell's spot on the team.

Ro is talented and still has a chance to excel but he needs to find his way onto a team with more structure and leadership.
Wish he was more of a leader himself. An MLB should be.
Not a ringing endorsement of Ro but he and Oak were a bad fit
Put him on BAL, Pitt, NE, SG and he has a chance to redeem
Putting aside the fact that "structure and leadership" has nothing to do with the fact he looked lost every time he was on the field and was passed on the depth chart by a random warm body, plenty of grown men are able to be drafted by the Raiders and not kicked off for being a knucklehead. The idea that Rolando plays poorly and fires guns at people is because of the makeup of the locker room is absurd. The only thing that can be said in his defense is he was never the best fit for a 4-3.
He was quoted saying, "I'm looking forward to playing for an actual team." You don't pull this stunt and get away with it in the NFL that shii don't fly.
He'll get another chance. Maybe he'll make good on it. For some reason its impossible for me to believe Ro can't make it as a 3-4 first down run-stuffer if nothing else. But weither he makes it or not won't depend on if there are more people around to babysit him.
I wonder if Saban ever reaches out to players like him to give them advice. I'm sure it's tough because he's got hundreds of former player on top of the struggle of keeping tabs on his current team.
Im a Raider fan, was really excited when the Raiders took him in the first round as he was a favorite of mine playing for Bama.
But it just hasn't worked out, plus the Raiders are going through a big transition right now with a new GM and coaching staff, they are turning over the roster with the new regime in charge.
Ro needs to go to a veteran 3-4 team and maybe he can salvage his career.
From Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network: The Raiders say Rolando McClain is still on the team. His reps say they have not been notified. McClain, apparently, disagrees
Christopher Walsh covers Alabama football for BamaOnline, 247Sports, and is the author of 18 books.
What happened to him!!??
It is such a shame to see a young man fall so far.
Hopefully this works out for him. He is a great talent with some issues right now.
Vince Lombardi was asked how it felt to have the best football team in the world. He replied, I don't know. We haven't played Alabama yet.
I'm from decatur and he was always in trouble, etc. while in high school. Involved with a bad crowd. Not surprised that his best behavior was when Saban had a firm grip on his sack.
I was in no way absolving him of blame.
Yes, he is a knucklehead. And certainly not showing signs of of being a leader and excelling despite his circumstances. But often times people like that do better in an environment where they have to step up to meet the structure around him. He wasn't perfect at UA but CNSs system helped him do better. Maybe an environment more like that in the NFL will wake him up before he blows it
Ro fb status just said-"No worries people page was hacked."
Raiders are a fractured franchise. Probably the worse in the NFL right now. That's not excusing Rolando but it's a breeding ground for issues on and off the field.

Who has off the field issues other then Rolando? People on this board always live in the past when it comes to the Raiders, as if Stabler and Matuszak are getting arrested for barfights left and right or something.
Clearly the Franchise wasn't being run well in Davis' latter years, and there's a lack of talent at pretty much every position, but in no way did that organization somehow turn Rolando into a bum.
riiiiiiiiiight. Amazing how now pro athlete ever puts their foot in their mouth on social media, there's just rampant "hacking".
McClain was accused of hitting student with vehicle and physical assault
-They were involved in a brawl Sunday where a Bengal accused them of trying to gauge his eyes out.
-It's only a few years ago that the Jamarcus Russell experience happened.
-Just a few months ago a former Raider was charged with murdering 4 people.
-Lane Kiffin was the coach 3-4 years ago.
-Heyward-Bey busted for DUI in last 6 months.
-Louis Murphy arrested for possessing viagra last year.
-Mario Henderson arrested last year for possession of firearm.
-Tommy Kelly DUI in last 5 years
All of these incidents, provided by google search, happened well after Snake and Matuszak and within the last 5 years. Product on the field is bad. I watch them every week. If there isn't a major over haul they will continue to draft in the top 10 every year. IMO
