Starting to think Rondo is the best, or most valuable PG in the NBA. He's a major redass, which I love, and a Kentucky guy as well.
"You feeling satisfied now Teddy?"
The HEAT job is too big for Spoelstra. It's painfully obvious
i agree with you dm15. rondo is a beast. I'm a huge celtic fan and i personally would not take any other pg in the league. he's the total package
He literally does it all. Imagine how good he could have been at UK if Tubby hadn't handcuffed him.
Love Rondo. Once he develops a consistent jump shot, he may become the best point guard in the league.
Agree with you completely. The Heat coach is clueless. Can someone explain to me why LeBron was on the bench down the stretch? It is late in the fourth quarter, game is tied, and you take your best player out? Also, does the guy call plays? What does he do? The guy can't handle the job
I don't know if it's too big of. Job for him but I think he over thinks himself at the end of games. He should always run a high ball screen for either wade or James & have everybody get the hell out of the way. But he ties way to hard to show everybody how smart he is.
Yeah....end of games is when it shows. Look totally out of sinc. You have 2 of the best at going to the hole, (wade and Lebron) but it's always a fade away jump shot. Clear out and let your studs do what they do best.
Having 5 fouls might have something to do with LeBron being on the bench. Just a thought..
Heat could have benifited from some offense/defense subs down the stretch.
That would be a good point if it happened earlier in the fourth. At the point he was taken out, there were only 3 minutes or so left. The Celtics seized on the mismatch it created and Pierce scored an easy bucket. Also, the flow of the game may make you go beyond the next possession which means your best offensive threat is on the bench and your team is at a huge disadvantage. A few people, analyst and even Lebron himself on the bench, were upset with or questioned the decision. At that point in the game, having five fouls doesn't matter. That's why you saw Pierce in the game with five fouls.
FINALLY someone that agrees with me. Funny, I got LAMBASTED for saying this about 3 weeks ago. And where would the C's be without Rondo right now? Not in the playoffs after the first round, most likely...
1960 Les Paul
Rondo is a fantastic player. However, he can't shoot. He needs to develop a consistent jumper to be considered the best in the league. Rondo benefits from playing with three certified Hall of Famers and in a system that is designed to maximize his talents.
No doubt he is playing great. I don't understand the way teams defend him. I know the theory is to make him a jump shooter and not let him get to the goal. He is basically not defensed at all. I understand he is really quick but not any quicker than Rose or Westbrook and they are not defended like that. Again, not trying to discount what he has done in playoffs because he has been great. I just don't think the back off into the lane defense is working well.
Yep, Rondo doin work the past couple games, truly special.
I would like to see Heat pressure Rondo the entire game. I would swap Cole, Chalmers, Wade, LeBron, and even a little Battier on him to tire him out. I know he played a ton of minutes in game 2 but he was also able to dictate his pace at which he played. I think he is unstoppable if he dictates everything. I doubt that Rivers would play Rondo the way that Heat have if he was opposing Coach.
I doubt he ever catches Chris Paul, but he's right up there with him, D. Rose, Derron Williams, Nash, and Parker.
i agree, but i think he IS developing a consistent jumper, right before our eyes...
a pg's job is to facilitate the offense, so what if he doesnt have a consistent jumper, thats what a sg is for, there are several guys in the league that shoot better than rondo but he is a much better rebounder, passer and facilitator than any other pg in the league, so many people are enamored with the prowess of a d rose to put up 30 a night it makes me sick
Another deal is: What Rondo doesn't excel at in shooting, he MORE than makes up for in his rebounding. Show me another PG that rebounds like he does? There isn't one.
You must not watch Alabama basketball. Pur offense suffers for a number of reasons but mainly because Releford cant/wont shoot so defense's clog the paint so he cant penetrate. Unfortunately, Releford doesn't have three hall of famers on his team that help mask his deficiencies. Not having a point guard that can hit a consistent jumper means that it is essentially four on five on the offensive end which makes it difficult for the other four guys on the court to get open shots. Also a point guard that can hit a consistent jumper creates space for your scorer, slows down rotations, and also makes it difficult for teams to double team. Rondo's offense has improved, especially in the playoffs, and he has finally began to make teams pay for lagging off him. But there is no question that having a point guard that can shoot makes the game easier for his team.
They can't touch him in the playoffs number wise.
I would take Rondo in a heart beat. I watch every game in the post season and Chris Paul couldn't have carried Rondo's jock strap in his series.
Regular season. I would give it to you. But all Paul can do better than Rondo is score. And he can't do that if Rondo is on his game, like he has been in this series.
Sure it helps. But like the other poster said. Rondo is a better rebounder and passer than the other pgs. I'll take those attributes over a guy that can shoot.
And those 3 HOFers are way pass their prime. They aren't even all star caliber players anymore. I haven't seen them mask much of anything for him. But I have seen Rondo run around defenders and give them wide open looks.
FWIW, Garnett has played well.
