Understood, however he hadn't played prior to Sat. This was kind of a hint that he wouldn't being redshirting tho, imo.
Was Adam Griffith with him?
Sorry but no it has not.
Unless I'm mistaken (I may well be), the 80/70 rule has been in effect in the SEC for at least 15 years. That, to me, is a long time. We may disagree on the definition of what constitutes "a long time." No big deal.
Well, It is obvious that some of the post may or may not be right. Then again some of the post may or may not be wrong.
I'm confused...so we took our 5th string RB, Howell, and left possible contributors on defense at home? Am I the only one who thinks that doesn't make sense?
Why would we need anymore defensive players? We were already playing 3 deep on defense , so thats probably why we took the 5th string RB.
ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE....like NO other
If I am not mistaken, this was done for expense reasons. It rarely has ever provided extra depth, just an opportunity to put a jersey on some kids.
This reminds me of all the threads that went around (when we were on probation) regarding recruited walkons and the 25/85, etc. There would be 50 different answers and everyone thought they were right and everyone else was wrong.
Howell is a special teams starter. That's why he travels.
Regular season 80, however home team can dress 95 but with only 80 allowed to participate.
SEC Championship both teams 85.
I googled it hope it's right.

Neither did CHRIS BLACK. Just saying.....if you know what I mean.
In 1998, 1999, and 2000, the limit to even wear a jersey on the sidelines was 80 at home and 70 away. I knew that because I always looked at number 79 or 80 at home, and didn't bother to look when we were away. Even an injured player counted as dressed out if he was on the sidelines with a jersey on. There was no limit on OOC games, home or away.
Now, that's merely my own personal experience with my own two eyes, and Google disagrees. So maybe I was wrong all that time and I'm owed a few trips to the sideline.
Thank u! That is why I was confused! I have nothing against Howell and I live about 30 mins away from his hometown, so I enjoyed watching him play. I was under the impression that Ryan and Reggie were going to see playing time this year.
Yes, you are the only one. We didn't need anymore defensive contributors (especially guys we plan to RS and have no reason to burn a RS year on). In contrast, Howell provided solid carries that kept other rbs from getting hit. Considering we only have 4 schollie RBs right now. I think we should keep them as healthy as possible.
AJ in 2009?
