Think Bama has to win 2 games to get in. Hope it only takes one win, but for some reason think SEC get 4 in at the most. What does the board think?
we have to win it IMHO
Bama would have to win the SEC tourney to get in.
NIT bound if we don't win it.
I think a win over UT and UF, which is what we are looking at would do it. But if we somehow managed to beat those two, I would be extremely disappointed to not win the whole thing.
UT and UF are both playing good ball right now. I would be amazed
If we beat UT and UF back to back that may be enough.
The odds are our first 2 games are going to be Tenn and Florida. So, beating both of those teams would give us 2 very quality wins.
We need at a minimum to play Florida and beat them. That's an impressive victory and would put us in the tournament. Not sure just beating Tenn would carry enough weight to help us.
If Florida loses then we probably are going to need to win it all to get in.
We just don't have an at large resume right now and are in desperate need of a quality win.
Also, I'm not sure we get to play Florida. I think they lose to Georgia. They are horrible on the road.

Must beat TN first, but if we can find a way to top FL then we are in. Not probable but definitely possible. If not the SEC will only get 3 invites.
One, they 're not horrible on the road, just mediocre. Two, this is a neutral site game, not a road game. Three, Georgia's not exactly world beaters away from home either. All that said, Georgia has been playing well of late, so it wouldn't shock me to at least see it be a close game.
I agree with those that said wins over UT and UF would get us in. Either way, I'll be there all weekend supporting the team.
True, poor choice of words. There are significantly more beatable away from home is probably are more accurate way of putting it.
There's only 1 team we can't beat and that's Mizzou. They have really good big men and have a PG that even if he's affected by our pressure like he was in the first half of our game, he'll still manage to kill us more than we get him.
Being the #4 seed we'll probably end up playing Mizzou in the first game though. So NIT here we come. Our only hope was getting that #2 seed. UK beating UF did us no favors.
Actually, Tenn is who we'll likely end up playing. And UK winning really didn't hurt us, we held the tie breaker over them. OleMiss winning is really what hurt us....
The bracket is already out pal. We play South Carolina/Miss St winner or UT on Friday.
Mizzou is the 6 seed. They're on the other side of the bracket. We wouldn't meet them until the finals on Sunday.
We're in UT's bracket...so them..then UF...then Mizzou in the finals if they make it that far.
UT has won a lot of big home games, but they struggled away from home as of late...losing @UGA and struggling @AU. IMO we match up well against UT. Now that doesn't mean we are going to win but I do like our matchup.
For the most part we do match up pretty well with UT, but Stokes is a nightmare for us on the inside. We basically lost at UT on offensive boards...
Moussa's length gave Stokes some trouble if I remember correctly. As long as we can keep Moussa out of foul trouble we should be able to contain him. Our guards will need to be scrappy and go to the defensive glass. Bc you are right, most of his damage was put backs after his own misses. Defensive rebounding will be our key to winning Friday.
A lot is going to depend on what happens with about 8 other teams as well. Not just us. There is a small chance we could get in without a win over Florida, like 5%. If we do beat UT and Florida(assuming that's who we play), we may still need some help in other places.
Starting with the last four in I have us behind LaSalle, Kentucky, St. Mary's and Tennessee.
I also have us behind UMASS, Baylor, Stanford and Ole Miss as the first team's out.
It may look bad but there is a lot of movement that could happen this week with these teams. With two wins over UT and UF we could pass up all of these guys depending on how things shake out with them as well.
Can you post from the selection committee meeting next weekend?
You feel better about yourself now?
