Didn't remember seeing this linked last week.
I remember doing 225lbs 20 times when my bench press max was only 335. If his max is 600lbs and he's trained for the reps I think he could. What is his chances?
The NFL is about on-field production, not what players can do in the weight room. The NFL combine is used to gauge the speed, strength and agility of future prospects, though, so its longstanding bench press record this year.
If you dreamed you were a sleep and you woke up, would you be awake?
He did 52 during Bama's pro day last year.
10 Major Poll National Titles (CFB record)
35 Bowl Wins (CFB record)
72 Wins over last 6 years (CFB record)
Thanks, I didn't know that. He definitely has a chance if he's trained for it.
It really depends on the caliber and quantity of the deer antlers this winter. (vbg)

Word is their velvetiness is at a new high.
That is an insane # of reps @ 225 lbs.!!! Even with deer antler velvet extract (g).

One rep strength is a factor but in this it's muscle endurance
100lbs under his body weight with a barrel chest will keep the travel of rep short. If his form is efficient its a great combo to hit a high number

It's going to be tough. The fact that he's at the combine and being watched by so many might throw him off his game.
I remember doing something like 18 or 20 reps of 225 on the burnout set at the end of a chest workout several times back in the day, but I can't imagine having ever done 52, even if I was fresh. That is a TON of reps at that weight.
Kinda my point about staying composed, gym lifting with teammates or friends can be different when your on the stage by yourself with all eyes on you. Was really weird my first meet that had about 100 peeps just watching see what you can do. Weird feeling, had to wear a singlet which I didn't care for and never worn one before.
