Don't know if y'all had heard him pick Bama 23-13. In an ugly game.
Ugly or not, I'll take it. Although I think we win by 14
So in his words... He thinks a good, not great team will be the national champs??
Don't know about his words, but those might as well be my words.......it's exactly how I view this season.
Yes. Not EVERY national championship team is GREAT. Just better than everyone else, or the stars aligned, etc. Again...I see the point, and I just *might* agree. Not sure yet.
This game will define this year's team more than the last few years, IMO.
FWIW, he said last year's Bama team is one of the historically GREAT teams. That put some of what he was saying in context in terms of this year's team.

Yea 9.5 now. The reverse line movement is certainly I our favor here but best hope he has was a push at that spread.
I definitely respect your opinion but I think if this team wins on Monday night and then you look back on the season at how they completely dominated most of their schedule, this would have to be considered a great team. Not the best ever by any means at all, but great none the less.
Yes he said Bama would win due to having the more experienced QB. Basically said Bama is a football factory who reloads every year
I am with you as long as we win +1.. Never had bad sex and never seen an ugly win.
Burn baby burn. & Go to hell tennessee
There is an excellent discussion of Cowherd's prediction here. ;)
It must be a pretty worthwhile discussion...it's got a +19 upvote.
Said it would be a slugfest, ugly at times, but experience will win out, 23-13 Tide.

My personal scale goes bad-not good-decent-good-very good-great. I'd label this Alabama team very good.......and it goes without saying, "very good" is more than enough to win a championship most seasons. Losing 5 to the top 35 of the draft and STILL being able to play for the BCS title in what many would consider a transition year of sorts is a testament to how much better Nick Saban is than the rest of the field.
I stop short of calling this team great though simply because in the biggest games we had (LSU, TexAM, UGA), we lost one and won 2 narrowly. Once again, I get that there's no difference in winning by 1 vs winning by 30 in the won/loss column, but it DOES matter when you're trying to gauge how this team compares to great teams of years past.
And keep in mind, most programs go decades at a time without even having a "very good" team, just to give you an idea of how awesome it is to be a Bama fan right now......where we can literally have debates over whether our team is great or just very good. They're not having this discussion over on the bunker right now, I can assure you of that.
It really is a very informative thread. It's a +21 now. Definitely worth a read.
Losing doesn't make me want to quit. It makes me want to fight that much harder-Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant
Jim Mcelwain was on staff last year and he was Colin Cowherds College roommate. So now that he is gone i have noticed Cowherd talking down on Bama way more than in the past.
