Oh, I wouldn't say so. I was just relaying what anyone would have learned if they had bothered to spend a couple of minutes checking the story out. The story was actually in the News-Sentinel on Wednesday. I guess you missed it.
Debby Jennings' lawsuit against the University of Tennessee and athletic director Dave Hart was amended Wednesday in response to a UT official refuting the original suit's claim that Hart told former women's basketball head coach Pat Summitt that she would not be coaching the team during the 2012-13 season.
Dave inherited an absolute mess of a situation in that AD. This is not the only lawsuit hes been dealing with either, they going through tons of cleaning house and budget cuts. He's doing what hes supposed to do IMO. Stopped the spending and wants to replace it with revenue. Taking control, smart IYAM.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
The local media got it stirred up more than anything on a slooooowwwwww news day.
The whole issue (which has nothing to do with the lawsuit Debby Jennings filed) centered around whether Dave Hart forced Pat Summitt out or whether it was her decision.
When she stepped down, there was and immediated accussation that Dave forced her out. Dave and the university denied this. What was reported the other day, and started the frenzy, was that Pat had signed an affidavit saying that she had met with Dave Hart and after that initial meeting her feeling was that she was gone at the end of the season. What was also in the affidavit , THAT WAS NOT REPORTED BY THE MEDIA INITIALLY, was that there was an almost immediated followup meeting in which Dave Hart clarified his position that he and no intention of forcing her out what so ever.
This entire thing is an example of crap journalism/radio.
Airharper is 100% correct. The lesbians are out in full force against consolidating the Atheletic departments and this was a chance to try to lessen Dave's credibility. Everybody with anysense could see the changes in her. It was sad, it was time, and Debby is using a legendary friend (in my opinion , poorly).
I don't care one way or the other, but I have a particular distaste for crappy journalism/radio which began with watching the AJC trying to screw coach Bryant.
