Do you think that we would burn his redshirt in response to certain situations or do you think a decision on whether or not to burn the shirt would be decided before the game is play.
My guess is the latter. What are your thoughts?

Black when healthy was ahead of those guys on the A-day game. This may just be the first time he's been healthy and is medically cleared.
This would also save his RS for another year if he were to need it for any reason.
Also a good point
I wonder if a player can use a medical redshirt if he misses the overwhelming majority of the season, regardless of when the player actually plays? Usually if a guy is out for the season, he can use a medical redshirt.
It's all good. There is absolutely nothing to worry about at the wr position. Nothing to see here. Were fine with Amari and Norwood right?
Ya I got flamed to during the game. I know how you feel. Were one hit away from being in major trouble at the wr position.

Vince Lombardi was asked how it felt to have the best football team in the world. He replied, I don't know. We haven't played Alabama yet.
Thanks Chris, We all know also that CNS does not show the teams full hand until the SEC Game or the BCS Title Game. I know Coach knows what he is doing. No one has seen Chris play so that could be a good thing in this game. Roll Tide Roll
At least he's been on campus since January. He has gone through the spring and A-Day, which is much better than not ever stepping foot on the field at Bryant-Denny.

This will be a bad move for Chris. He should not burn his redshirt for one game maybe two.
How is it a bad move for Chris? There's no guarantee that he'll get another chance to play in an SEC Championship game or the BCS championship game. You know he's gotta be itching to go.
That is a good question. Is there a limit on how many games a player can participate in and still redshirt? I believe Hightower played in at least 3 games in '09 and still got a redshirt.
Also, Darius Hanks was able to get a 5th year of eligibility by sitting out 2 games last season. I wonder if we could sit Black for some games in a coming season to get him a 5th year. This is assuming we go ahead and burn his shirt for this season.
The answer is no and no, Hightower was under the limit for games played for a medical hardship waiver, CB would be playing after the half way point of the season. Darius Hanks fell under a rule of Coaches Misinterpretation of rule. Obviously CB would not fall under that scenario. The only upside to him playing as far as redshirting goes is that he would still have it in case of injury in the future.
I don't see how Black could make much of an impact being out for so long. It would be stupid to burn his redshirt over one game. We have 4 or 5 really good receivers who can get the job done.
question, what if he plays jan 7 in the title game, would that burn his redshirt?
