I watched the SEC championship replay for the 1st time tonight. It made me realize how unreal a talent that Yeldon is. 1st you have to remember about how awesome of a coach Saban is (we all know) to really let the following scenario sink in about TJ. Eddie Lacy is a jr at this point and has much more experience than Yeldon. He has run like a man with his hair on fire during the game. UGA leads 14-10. On 3rd down, 6:10ish left to go in the 3rd qtr, AJ fires a pass on 3rd down that initially is ruled PI but is waved off due to the possibility that the ball is tipped. Upon further review, there is not enough evidence to overturn the revised call. 4th down we attempt an ill-fated FG that is blocked and returned for a TD. Bama down 21-10. 6:55 to go in the 3rd. Saban inserts Yeldon instead of Lacy in the game after the kickoff with the championship on the line. Not saying if we don't score here that it's the ballgame, but the fat lady would begin warming up. 4 plays and 77 yards later, TJ had a mind bending sequence of carries and scored the TD and 2 point conversion to put Bama only down 3 points. Remarkable trust and instinct by Saban and surreal performance with that much pressure by the TF Yeldon. I know we had a great OL but rewatch it if you have a chance and pay attention to his tackle breaking and vision on that drive. He could be the best RB to put the Crimson Jersey on. He is a true Sophomore. RTR.
Truly special RB.
True freshmen like TJ don't come around that often. Hoping we got another one in Henry or even Tenpenny.
15 National Championships, 23 SEC Championships, NCAA Record 60 Postseason Bowl Appearances, NCAA Record 35 Bowl Victories
Watching Yeldon is surreal. He doesn't look fast, he doesn't bulldoze like Trent and his cuts look like they're done in slow motion. But really he's just so fluid and big. Reminds me a lot of Shaun.
He will get P-A-I-D barring injury in the league. Complete back. Does it all. Great attitude to boot.
Yeldon's 3rd and 7 run for a 1st down was the biggest play of the game.
If he gets 5 yards we are looking at 4th and short at midfield. Then we have to hold UGA with only 4 minutes left in the game or so. But he stretched it for 7 and then bomb to Cooper for the win.
We were playing 4 down territory and he got the 1st by himself on 3rd.
10 Major Poll National Titles (CFB record)
35 Bowl Wins (CFB record)
72 Wins over last 6 years (CFB record)
He didn't do it all by himself. He had a UGA defense that had resorted to shirt grabbing and 2-hand touch by this time in the game to help him along too...
i guess stopping us for a 7 yard gain was a win for UGA that night. much better than the usual 15 yarder they had been giving up
Got to have Nutz and faith to hand the ball off to a TF at that point in the game too.
Yep - the man knows a transcendent talent when he sees one. It's a gift he has that most observers do not.
Whoever downvoted me for this is a king douche. Learn to interpret sarcasm, as it was VERY clear I was making fun of UGA and their wimpy defense.
Yeah I figured you'd hide behind that little button. It's ok.

I voted you down because it did not sound like you were being sarcastic but rather berating the UG defense and although you are correct he didn't do it all himself it is understood that it was a team effort. When you use sarcasm you need to make it clear that it is.
Sorry if I misunderstood your intent .
gotta love TJ Yeldon!
Had to keep reminding myself he was a freshman.
How in the world did auburn people really believe they could hold onto him? A running back of his caliber literally would have to be retarded to make that decision.
"You don't always get what you want, but you always get what you deserve"
i know there have been games where more rushing yards were gained, but i just dont ever remember being in awe of the absolute gashings taking place in a game. we were literally doing whatever we wanted to in that game on the ground. should have ran it 60 times
and yeldon is a man, lots of fau in him, as well
Does that mean what I think it does?
How correct you are...biggest play of the game. It did look as if he would only get 5 yds.....with the other 2 yds needed, he just carried the defenders with him. He was determined to get the first down mark. I can't wait to see him play on Sat!!!
Lets see- I said "by this time in the game they had resorted to shirt grabbing and playing 2-hand touch". Doesn't that sound like we were making their ass quit? And if you go watch that specific play you will see the UGA defender desperately holding on to Yeldon's jersey as he gains 5 more yards.. It was actually pretty funny. Pay better attention.
And who are all these tussies that down vote without discussing? Isn't that the point of this board?
I really don't care about votes, it's actually the gayest part of this board. But I do care about people who would rather downvote something than discuss it. Especially when their brains can't keep up with a conversation.
Sorry to chane the subject, but I watched that game last night too. That allegedly tipped pass call that they called the play before the blocked field goal was absolutely ridiculous. That game wouldn't even had been close if not for that. We would have put it away after that.
Just glad Saban finally told Nuss to quit the shennanigans and run the damn ball.
Curtis Martin was asked on Mike and Mike this morning if he thought the prototypical RB was a big bruiser or a small/shifty back. He answered that he thought Adrian Peterson was the type of RB teams want, a guy who is big and can push the pile but still able to be shifty and make guys miss. That is exactly how TJ is. TJ is the Adrian Peterson of college football. I'm going to enjoy it for the next two years, because after that he will be the back in the NFL that everyone is compared to.
He did get 5 yards - that play was actually on 3rd and 5. Not to take anything away from him, of course. Still a phenomenal job getting the first down.
Agreed! I watched the replay last night as well and thought the same thing. Not saying he will end up the best but, if he stays healthy, definitely has the potential to be GOAT!
Also, I forgot how great that game really was. That offensive line was unbelievable!
