I usually stay away from these political posts, because they're pointless, and some people don't know how to agree to disagree. But really, what IS your point in regard to the thread? I didn't vote for Romney either...so I suppose I'm evil or something? Has absolutely nothing to do with this thread.

In my opinion, Ali is just like the next guy, good and bad, just more extreme than the average. All of us think we have it right, or have THE answer, but the truth is, none of us has it completely right. There're some things I admire about Ali, and some I don't. I applaud him for standing up for his beliefs in regard to the war. If I were to get drafted to fight for my country, would I? F*ck*ing right I would! But he had his reasons for doing that, and he stood up for what he believed in. What is largely being ignored is that blacks were still oppressed in this country, and that had a lot to do with why he wouldn't fight.
The America that you guys know and love wasnt always the America of the present day. The guy was a great humanitarian, but at the same time, he was a womanizer. So like I said, good/bad. I said all of that just to say this...we all share different values and beliefs, and the guy was a helluva boxer!
Kinda like GW Bush?
Alot of these in here...
I was never much of a fan. Pretty convenient religious conversion IMO.
So no one wants to comment about Ali refusing to fight for a country that was then racist towards blacks?
Losing doesn't make me want to quit. It makes me want to fight that much harder-Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant
No offense but there wasn't a single time during the Vietnam war that the Vietnamese in any way threatened the freedom of the people of the United States. We should have never been in Vietnam because we had absolutely zero understanding of the Vietnamese people who have been fighting wars of independence for over a millennium. The Vietnam War should have never been fought and it's unfortunate for all the men who bravely served and died because of terrible leadership and greedy men who wanted to further their own fortunes by using the military industrial complex. But that's what war really is, a few rich men send a bunch of poor boys off to die for them, it's a sad reality.

Choose not a life of limitation
There were a ton of reasons not to vote for Mitt Romney one of them being he was really no different than Barack Obama. They both sucked and there is more than two political viewpoints.
that was the reason given and anyone knows that the war could have been over in days except that the people who run the wars, politicians and big oil will not allow the military do what it should be able to do and that was to defeat a far inferior enemy if in fact we should have been their at all. if we had allowed the full force of american power at the time to be unleashed the issue could have probably been settled in much less time and with fewer loss of american lives. instead communism did spread and a lagee part of our country turned its back on men who were doing the job sent to do! thanx to all who have ever worn our uniform not just in vietnam but anytime!
Your post absolutely infuriates me. I'm not a Muslim. Actually I'm a Christian, but to go after a religion like you did. Not here to judge, but I believe you should delete your post. The "Christian" religion has killed just as many people as any other religion. Also, as someone who likes to be somewhat knowledgeable the Quran and the Old Testament of the Bible are pretty much a circle and a square they fit inside of each other. Lots of things are in both books. Long story short those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. /rant
