I believe defensively we need two "things" to improve:
1. better defensive back play
2. at least one elite pass rusher, preferably on the edge. two would be even better.
If we would have not been hit with injuries to our dbs like we were this year, i believe we would have still wound up in Pasedena again despite mot having an elite pass rusher.
IMO, the changes can be summed up as follows:
1. Whether you like it our not, the future of college football is the HUNH and what you saw in the Fiesta Bowl, not the Rose Bowl, 50 something to 40 something is where college football is headed.
I hope I'm wrong, but in the next 5 years I'll say 100 of the 124 teams will run some version of the HUNH.
IMO, the HUNH is the death of college football. When asked about the HUNH and whether it was good for football, I believe it was Mark Schlabach who said something along the lines of, its allowed under the rules, but would you want to watch a baseball game where the pitcher could throw the pitch the second the batter stepped into the box, because that is essentially what the HUNH is.
Personally, I don't like it, didn't grow up watching the HUNH or playing it (outside of the 2 minute drill).
