and that the roster and the present signing class was full of players who were 4* and 5* and likely going to be in the NFL one day. Say that in late January 2006 he offers a player who's only two other offers were from Florida International and Florida Atlantic. The primary purpose of this offer was to get a punt returner out of the deal but other than that the picture wasn't clear on where or even if, he'd be used. How many on this board "would not want" this player? As you probably figured out this player is now Kansas City Chiefs' Javy Arenes. There are a few Saban offers I don't understand (Andrews and McLeod among others) but just pointing out that sometimes these unrecruited guys turn into stars but I realize its also a bit of exception and not the rule.

I think you could also include Kareem Jackson in the group... Saban signed him in 2007 I think... very late offer... 3*... but he turned out ok too
